yeah, once again, paint application seems a bit iffy. still though, its better than starscream. i have only one noticable blemish on mine. unfortunatly, its right across the chest.

I like to think that Takara took into account the possibility of Megs breaking, probably "testing" him to see if he breaks. But, maybe they didn't.

I just got my MP-05 and although I've gotten him into gun mode, I cannot get his arms to fit together properly -- both arm back bit seems to outright refuse to stay flush with the forearms. Am I missing something? It's driving me nuts. :-x

It isn't as much of a matter of pusing hard; you need to correctly align the arms and maintain pressure. The connection to the arm slides up and down. If I recall correctly, you need to keep it held all the way up while you bend/fold up the arm.

It also takes a bit of "massaging."

I had him for about 3 hours, transformed him 3 or 4 times to get used to it and the trigger and one of the tabs that connects the handle to the gun broke. The tab was no problem, but the trigger was a bitch to glue back together. It's all fixed now, so now worries.

I wonder what an MP-05 Megatron's average "lifespan" will be? I know certainly if he is not transformed too much he will last longer, but aren't Transformers meant to be fiddled around with?

I just noticed some scratch marks around the Decepticon symbol that ends up in the back in robot mode. Not a big deal, I guess, but still kind of annoying.

No it doesn't. At least not in my opinion. It is up there with one of the most intricate, advanced, and well-designed Transformers ever made.

I just wish the quality of materials matched the level of ingenuity put into the design of Megatron. I'd gladly pay $150 - maybe upwards of $200 for the same figure remade with more durable parts and manufactured under strict quality conditions.

I agree, he's leaps and bounds better than Starscream, who himself ic leaps and bounds better than Prime/Convoy. I pesonally feel though that he has pretty good QC, deffinutly better than Starscream's.

better than starscream, yes, but still not as good as prime.

yes, prime is a much blockier figure and much easier to make durable. but megatron still has the same cheap-ish feel that starscream does. its better than starscream, sort of a mix of the two, but still not as good as prime.

and i transformed mine back to bot mode today. loving him on the shelf, all imposing and huge next to prime. the more i look at him the more i like him but he's still not all there for me yet. his hips are a little funky looking.

Well,..your opinions are no longer credible.

You shouldn't have too, they are supposed to do it right the first time. The Box doesn't say "Display Piece". Know what I mean?

(I know you don't mean me, But...)

I'm jealous of a lot of you folks out there.
I only have 17 figs.

G1 Bltzwing (no accessories or stickers)
Takara Reissue Jazz and Inferno
6' Titanium Prime (got him for $5, Target mispriced Him)
Transmetal Cheetor and this Megs
Classics Jetfire, Starscream and Grimlock
Alternator Silverstreak and Sideswipe
Cybertron Soundwave, Vector Prime, Downshift, Primus, Ransack and Undermine.

But I'm not gonna hate on anyone, I learn from your experiences. I'm jealous of the good experiences, and am sorry that I can't warn others of the bad experiences.

With that being said, It looks like I'm going to have to pass on this fig as well... I can't afford that much for something that COULD come out of the box broken.

Those horror stories don't scare me. I got a better one :)

It was a cold dark night and the Megatron in its display case begins to move on its own wooooooooo~ His eyes begin to glow and opens the glass door that is holding him prison. He jumps down, grabs a knife from the kitchen and starts hitting each and every one's room stabbing away at...

YOUR MIB G1 OPTIMUS PRIME!!!

Oh, and I pray I get that glued cap out of the socket without damaging the figure or else I will have to write a true horror story :(

With the money were paying for this thing it kind of reminds me of the 6" Titanium Megs :(

I found it helped when you straighten out the arms then transform them. It helped a lot when I got the chance.

Ah, you just don't know me yet. I wasn't being serious about the jealousy thing. Just a joke.

Don't ever worry about the size of your collection or how it compares. Most of the fun of collecting is the actual anticipation and then the 'getting'. 'Having' isn't nearly as much fun (though, I'm certainly not knocking it).

All I'm saying, is enjoy each figure as you get them and try to pick up stuff so that you enjoy the adventure.
