Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
skywarp-2 wrote:5. Megatron (I prefer the smaller Jap version and with Megs this also has nicer colors)
6. Galvatron (the US Galvatron has the better colors despite being an oversized toy)

Between the Magna Convoy thing and this you seem to have really taken my imput from the trilogy threads on board. Nice one S2, it's good to know that at least some of the views I put out onto these forums are appreciated and taken on by boardmates. Of course some of the time I'm a bit out there...

Counterpunch wrote:A lot of those toys you just will not find deals on.
Just, warning you really...
BBTS does have Magma type Cruellock for about $20 though...
And Micron Legends Thundercracker is there on back order.
SnapTrap wrote:If you want to get good deals, you really need to shop around. Granted it will be harder since the TF movie has spiked the value of the figures. Some places to look:
•eBay; you might stumble on a seller that doesn't know that they have something valuable at the moment. Also you can usually get more bang for your buck buying a group of figures in one auction.
•Online toystores—there are tons out there, some may be trying to get rid of old TF merchandise they do not want because it hasn't sold in years. This is a great way to find deals on figures.
•Check 2nd hand stores and vintage antique/toystores. Sometimes you can find a hidden gem that is reasonably priced.
•Comic Book stores might be a good place to look (though 98% of the time it isn't)
•Flea Markets—have to be careful here, a better chance of finding a KO than a vintage figure but if you educate yourself on what to look for and how to tell the knockoffs from the real deal then you will be ok.
•Local toy shows/comic book shows/conventions may have some good finds. Go to these if in your area. Sometimes you find the guy with tons of loose figures in those big plastic bins. Rummage through them for an hour or two and you can end up finding most of the parts to the loose figures at the bottom of the bin. You can score some really cheap finds this way. Also haggle with the seller. You can usually get them to lower the price a bit. I found a bunch of my Beast Wars figures (from the first season) that I missed this way.
•Family/Friends that aren't into TF but had them as a kid. They might still have them in a box up in the attic/garage
•Look everywhere—sometimes stores that you wouldn't think of having something (mainly vintage shops and 2nd hand stores)
•Be patient—remember that you have lots of time to find these figures so if you feel the figure is too overpriced, skip it. You will find one at the right price eventually.
The other important tip is to become knowledgable in what you are shopping for. There is nothing worse than feeling you got ripped off because the figure is missing parts when in fact you didn't research it enough. I'm guilty of this when I was starting out buying vintage G1 figures on eBay. Hope these tips help.

But on the other hand, I want ot find the cheapest possible price for Thunderblast and Override GTS too.
skywarp-2 wrote:Ok so, since I'm Back tracking and obtaining Figures from the Armada/Energon/Galaxy, or commonly referred to as the Unicron Trilogy.. I have compiled the lists of Figures i am looking for.. and believe me it's gonna be a long haul for me, considering I own next to none of these guys..
But possibly with your help I can and may find some really good deals so that my collection of these from their series can grow and I can finally put to rest my collector angst. The notes are things, with suggestions fans made, I wrote to myself when I decide to shop for those items so I can refer back to them..
So here goes, and I will cookiethose that I have already acquired..which isn't much...
Unicron Trilogy:
Transformers Armada/Micron legend:
1.Optimus Prime-US release..have but want an MISB version...
2.Magna Convoy-Toys R Us Japanese Exclusive ( I own waiting on shipment)![]()
3.Galvatron
4.Powerlinx Jetfire![]()
5. Powerlinx Hotshot
6. Starscream (Jap colours are nicer, all the recolours and remoulds bar possibly Universe Ramjet are worth looking at);)^ have but want MISB version as well...
7. Thundercracker
8. Skywarp
9. Deluxe Prime they are soo cute!!Have but want MISB version..
10.The Micron Legends Rampage (Japanese Wheeljack)
11. UNICRON!!! (essential, 'nough said)
12. Tidal Wave
13. Predacon
14. Hasbro Nemesis Prime../ Takara Nemesis(Scourge)
That will cover my essentials for that series..
Notes:
"The Deluxe Prime from Armada is one of the best moulds to date. Its Cybertron Repaint is very nicely detailed, and will probably be easier and cheaper to get (although you wont get his minicon partner, instead you'll get a Cyberkey)."
"Micron Legend Shockwave has show accurate purple coloring as opposed to the green on Armada Tidal Wave.
In the Armada Series there was a Nemesis repaint of that same deluxe figure, which looks pretty cool except for the Tan colored grill. The Takara Nemesis(Scourge) is better looking, with the silver instead of Tan."
Transformers Energon/Superlink:
1. Leader class Optimus Prime
2. Wingsaber
3. Quickstrike
4. DownShift
5. Megatron (I prefer the smaller Jap version and with Megs this also has nicer colors)
6. Galvatron (the US Galvatron has the better colors despite being an oversized toy)
7. Starscream (I'd go for the US remold if possible)
8. Dreadwing
9. Scorponok,
10. Command Ravage
11. Divebomb /Shadow Hawk
12. Alpha Q
13. Landmine
14. Cruellock Magma Type
15. Dark Unicron
16. Omega Sentinel
17. Ultra Magnus
18. Mega Dinobot, Grimlock and Swoop combiner
Notes:
Energon Prime Got 2 releases, the Leader Class that combines with his Prime units or Wingsaber or Omega Sentinel aka Omega Supreme (Repaint)
and his Deluxe Version that combines with any of the Energon Autobots .
"Most people don't like the Leader class because it looks like something from a Power Rangers series. Combined With Wing Saber however he looks Pretty Good. His combination with Omega Supreme or Sentinel, doesn't really add anything to the figure. Its basically just prime encased in Omegas' body. with only his head popping out at the top."
Transformers Cybertron/ Galaxy Force:
1. Leader Prime (awesome);)^
2. Cryo Scourge or Fire Convoy/Scourge in the US
3. Starscream, ( Supreme and the Japanese issue)
4. Vector Prime (White, or Galaxy Force Repaint) Get the Galaxy Force original..
5. Hot Shot/Excillion,
6. Breakdown
7. Soundwave,
8. Evac,
9. PRIMUS!!!
10. Master Galvatron
12. Override GTS
13. Metroplex
14. Jetfire/ Skyshadow
15. Wingsaber
16. Leo Breaker/Nemesis Breaker
17. Mudflap
18. Red Alert
19. Quick Mix

It is amazing how much of your budget can go on Transformers.
I've never gotten close to the point of missing food, or the mortgage, but I'm sure there are some here who have.
I have had weeks where I have spent over $200 on Transformers, and had no $$ for going out. Not smoking and not being much of a drinker certainly helps in the $$$ department though.
