Anyone else think the new navigation style for the forums has taken the fun out of "my collection" threads?
I am of course speaking about the cut off pictures in those threads.
Links just arent the same.
Is there not some way to correct this so we can see each other's collections in full view within the thread?

I don't think it's taken any fun away personally. I can live with smaller images on the boards.
Of course, there are two ways to fix it.
The first is for the powers that be to fix the layout so it expands again.
The second is to resize all your images to 481 pixels in width.
That is assuming the post width doesn't change again, it was 456 pixels before so this is an improvement.

I'd like to see the page width brought back up to where it was, or at least allow the borders of the page to break so that pictures can be accomodated.

Ahem, three ways then.
You can copy the image to something (MS Works document, Paint, whatever) and you’ll be able to see the whole thing.

There's a third more logical option.
Thumbnails.
Even if the page width were to be expanded, using thumbnails and linking to larger images will actually help those on slower connections.
I'm on a fairly decent connection but I don't bother will collection threads because they take too long to load because people insist on posting large pics.
Post large pics, but use them as thumbnails. Not everyone wants to see EVERY pic, they might want to only look at a couple.

I agree with you there. Thumbnails should be standard practice for galleries, but it requires more time and effort on the poster's part, so it would be better to have it as a rule rather than a preference to make people actually do it.
Or it could be done automagically by the server, but then do we really need additional gallery software running on here alongside HMW and everything else. Of course it should be fine if that RAM upgrade works, but who can say.
Nice and simple, but that doesn't address the site width issue.

Or you could just drag it into your browser's address bar.Nekoman wrote:You can copy the image to something (MS Works document, Paint, whatever) and you’ll be able to see the whole thing.

Or if you're in Firefox you can just right click -> View image.

Only thing that bothers me is how Seibertron crashes a lot. I'll be on it one moment, hit refresh a minute later and the site will be down and that happens off and on everyday.

TFs for trade, let me know if you have any of the ones I want or if you're interested in the ones I have.

Shoot, I can't even figure out how to put up pictures on here. I try to re-size them and the uploader comes back with a message telling me that it's still to big.
