Now everyone, remember these special rules:
1) Never let him get him wet
2) Keep him away from sunlight
3) Never, EVER, ask him question about programming after midnight.
Congratulations Moggy! Good luck with the new build and if you need anything, you know where to find us.

Congrats, Mogwai. I'll skip the feeding questions.
It's always good to see a new programmer come in. They always have new vision, new stuff to stick into the game. I'm sad to see the missions and regular arena go, but when HMW v2 comes around, I'm sure we'll have other, shinier stuff to distract us. Like pocketwatches!

In a Galaxy Far Far Awry issue 1: Serial Fiction Sideshow now for sale.
Issue 2: Home Sweet Home Invasion also for sale.
Back issue 3: Technophobia coming soon. And you can help!

I don't think it would take a whole bunch of new code to add the missions. Most of the text would be the description in the mission. Depending on how the code is, you could copy-paste-edit to get the missions. I'd just like to see some 3-5 missions, even if the new game comes up in 3 months.
I will not be touching the old code or db. I do not wish to detract from the new game by trying to mess with the old code. I apologize if this is an inconvenience but I feel it's like trying to put a new muffler on an old Yugo when you've got a Ferrari on the way. I understand that it might not take much to do it for someone who had a hand in programming it. I haven't and I'm not going to try to figure it out.

Its always amazing to see one of the troops promoted when they earn it. I've trolled through the boards alot and I have to say I am once again very excited for the future of this game and will try to be even more active now!

You still need to keep the Yugo running while you're waiting for your new ferrari.
Understandable reasoning though. I know first hand that if you're not familure with the code that it's not always as simple as it should be, especially if the code is mushed together in the first place. Sometimes things that should be a easy change cause catastrophic failures. I was just really really hoping for new missions.

Beast Wars Expansion
so that means we are starting with just bots n cons. no beast factions?
i see how it would be easier to program for 2 rather than 4 factions.

See HMWv2.0 Info thread but, yes only autobots and decepticons for first release.

I was pretty adamant against the Beast Wars factions in the first place. If we're doing this all over, we're going back to the basics with just the Autobots and Decepticons. Back to the core of the Civil War. I told Mogwai Prime that it was required that he watch ALL of Beast Wars and Beast Machines before Maximals and Predacons (and possibly Vehicons) can be integrated into HMW. IF they get added, it will be done correctly and with a purpose.
And to those of you who are asking for Beast factions to be added into the game, I would also highly recommend that you watch Beast Wars and Beast Machines first prior to making those requests if you haven't seen either of those series in the past. Required watching for any Beast talk in regards to HMW.

Beast Wars Is what hooked me on Transformers, but yeah Beast Machines . . . (Jet Storm was funny as heck though)
But I can understand why no Beasties at start, but they are still part of the continuity of Transformers and many of us do like them a lot. But that is just my two cents, I'm still going to be a Decepticon.

They will be a part of the future of the game, just not at this time. Don't worry this little furball has the series on order.

I love Beast Wars - my fav TF series - but unless there is a good reason to bring them into the game, as far as story is concerned, I say they should sit it out. Just my opinion anyways.

Simple solution would be to still have the two factions (good/evil) but allow people to simply choose a faction symbol to choose. Essentially it's purely aesthetic and doesn't do anything.

Other factions will emerge in expansions. I have already talked this over with Seibertron and I believe you guys will like it when it comes along

Yeah but look at how things are now, this version of the experiment failed miserably.
Not shooting the idea down, they are after all part of the mythology and to some people BW/BM were their introduction to TF's so it holds that special little place in their heart and i'd love to see them work, but how are you going to manage the balancing issue that currently plagues this version?
