Agreed. I have Soul Silver on pre-order right now, and I'm itching for it. 30 days until it's released, and I've been getting everything ready to transfer my army off Platinum and onto Soul Silver.

It's gonna be a pain because there's no bulk transfer feature but I'll still get it done.

The new features look really fun too. The Pokethlon in particular is going to be way more fun than the stupid Hoenn/Sinnoh contests ever were.

And I'm so looking forward to seeing Clair and Lance again... They are my favourite characters from the games without a doubt. The double battle in particular is going to be awesome because I ship them, and seeing them fight side by side is squee worthy. <3 >P

Not without its flaws of course, the childish goings on and the characters speaking utterly stupid dialogue (in every game) will be as hilarious and as vexing as ever. But I look forward to writing my play diary for the game... There's something satisfying about hurling verbal abuse at NPCs.

I don't like motion sensing either..Thankfully, this kind of features don't affect the RPGs,which is almost the only type of games I play...

The fact that the first development kits were given to the Pokemon Company means that a new pkmn game will be a launch-title for DS2?If my memory serves me right,the GBA and DS pkmn games were released at least a year after the consoles....

Since it appears that it's only a preliminary version of the hardware, I doubt they've even considered beginning the development stage of a 'DS2' generation, especially considering they'll still have the fifth generation to care for over the next few years. So I'd be very surprised to see a main title at launch, but we might see a spinoff game along the lines of Mystery Dungeon or Ranger. That is of course, unless the DS2 is delayed until the life cycle of the fifth gen is at an end.

If this turns out to be true, I am going to spend a lot of money on videogames this year(2 new pkmn games, DS2 and WfC....)

May I ask why? I think that the differences between DS and DSi make DSi not-worth-buying in case you already have a DS....

Because the hinge on my DSLite was broken, which is annoying when you always have to hold it in place while playing. And there was an offer on the DSi at my local store to get two free games with a purchase. Plus I need to be able to trade with myself to get my Pokemon from Platinum to Soul Silver.

Oh you can play your old games on it...as long as they're from the PlayStation Store. You have to re-buy any UMD-based games off of the PSS, though, so bad news for anyone who bought anything from a brick-and-mortar store.

Heh, my GBA is not going anywhere. I need it if I ever want to revise my Gardevoir's stats again. Though that's unlikely at this point. You can't really beat a 31/30/31/31/31/31/Timid IV spread! X3 Can't do that on the DS...

All things considered though, it does sound promising. 3D images without the use of 3D glasses? I can't wait to see this for myself, if it works well I'm going to have to once again take my hat off to Nintendo for their innovation.

(Thanks! The Leaf Crown is probably the best in-game award since the introduction of Ribbons. I love that certificate Lyra gives you to go with the crown on the status screen. Gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. ;P)

I imagine instead of tracking infrared lights, it'll track your eye movement. I wonder what a future Pokemon game on the system will be like. Will they finally make a 3D Pokemon that's not some Pokemon Stadium knockoff? I'm sick of battles where the menus move more that the actual combatants.

Since this thread seems to have turned into the "Pokemon advice and discussion" thread I hope no one minds if I ask a couple of questions?

I'm somewhat new to this phenomenon having just picked up Platinum a few months ago. I'm not terribly far, my highest character is lvl 34 (a Torterra). So far it's a lot of fun, I even managed to get Arceus (though I can't use him yet).

It looks like a lot of the pokemon can only be obtained through trading, from old versions, events, or some other extraordinary measure. So my question is what are some good team members that are 'native' to P/D/Plat without having to stand on my head on a Saturday while leveling up at 5:23pm when it's raining with the pokemon holding the Smurf plate...

For instance there are several evolutions from Eevee and some are trickier than others - and I'm not sure how to get more than the one that I've been given. Are there two or three of the seven that are generally considered 'better'?

All the Eeveelutions are rather weak, but Jolteon is still by far the best, and Vaporeon is the next best choice.

To get more Eevees you'll need to breed. If your Eevee is female, put it in the Daycare with something it can breed with and get yourself some more.

If it's male... You'll need a Ditto to breed with it. Dittos are tough to get in Platinum but I'll trade you one if you want it. Just drop your friend code in the next post and we can arrange a time to trade. (I won't want anything special for it. Just catch a Bidoof or something.)

As a team building start... Go catch a Gastly in Eterna Forest (at night), and get a Magikarp to evolve into Gyarados at level 20.

So, if you want that ditto, my friend code is: 1892-3526-5596.

I was using Ghastly for a while, but recently swapped him out. Many of his moves seemed like a roll of the dice, maybe I just need to teach him some new ones.....
