Hahaha! No way. That just screams kiddie and annoying, which I'm sure the cartoon will be. At least Hasbro is helping me with saving my money in the forseeable future, since Alternators and Classics are both gone.

I wouldn't lump TMNT in with those. It was a major improvement over the 80s cartoons which are more on the level of the kiddie shows. Fans of the original Mirage studios comics would agree with me.

Thing is is that if this is a kiddie show, then its insulting to kids. I mean, I was 11 when TF's first came out, and from that age on down, kids just went nutso over TF's.
It wouldn't surprise me if this show was more a spoof than anything else, cause at the moment its hard to rationalize that design as anything but spoofy.

And people thought the movie designs were bad...this is simply horrendous...

Like I post earlier on, if the head was a sleaker design I could tolerate this. Still I really believe this is early development art. Maybe just Maybe they tweak it along the way.

By the way someone mention Beast Machines, let me tell you my personal opinion on that show. The visual didn't bother me as much as the story.

Beast Wars establish all this awesome characters with distinticve personalities that you were used to, then all of sudden those characters you grew to love watching were written by someone who knew nothing of Transformers and change them completely.

Optimus Primal being a blinded-religious-fiend with the Oracle.
Black Arachnia from a treacherous interesting character to a widow-lover-seaking bore.
Rhinox being Tankor.
Waspinator explanation how he got back to Cybertron.
Nightcream and Botanica. Ughh.
Not just that but to even goes as far as changing the history and origin of Transformers. Organic Cybertron?! That's where I draw the line.

I remember Bob Skir saying something in the lines of he's heroes don't use guns. Which made it more far fetched that 5 to 7 Maximals could take on an entire Drone Army. They were so many things I didn't like about Beast Machines that well I didn't watch it entirely. To me it was that bad. It was almost a little depressing. The Emoformers.

Why don't they make a series for those of us that are over 12!!?? They have done it for other series, so why not this one?

I don't think anyone would give this new series a second thought if there was a decent show on for the teen and up crowd....We haven't seen a decent television series since Beast Machines and then get stuck with a Michael Bay movie.

Yeah, because I'm sure that would go over well with the investors. Aim a show towards adults and probably be cancelled because lack of viewership, or the kiddies which...let's face it, outnumber any transfans community. You go for the sure bet, and catch the kiddies.

The changes in character you cited were, also IMO, logical developments of the plot. The Waspinator thing is a nitpick, albeit legitimate. I liked Nightscream the cartoon and the toy rules all. Ditto Botanica, alas no toy. As for organic Cybertron, what it suggests to me is we've never seen the full story, SimFur or G1 or even AEC in its entirety, and it sets my imagination going in all sorts of interesting directions. The no-gun thing I actually thought was a big plus because it gave the alt-modes something to do, plus gave the robot modes some melee oomph, which I always thought the BW robots lacked. Cheetor and Nightscream could tear drones up. Tankor = Rhinox was brilliantly shocking.

So, just back to my point, people have different opinions about what works and what doesn't, not to mention what's important in the first place.

The only show on CN anymore is Billy & Mandy, and I got a feeling thats on the way out.

But apparently the CN motto is "if it's worth watching, we'll cancel it."

Actually Reboot wasn't cancelled. They ended it with a good closure, look it up and you will see, but everything else I agree about. They did cancel good shows that didn't end good.

There was no closure to Reboot; it ended with a giant cliffhanger.

...is it to late to get eaten by Unicron?...people just had to whine didn't they and now the tf line is screwed unless by some miracle of primus someone somewhere saves it.

I agree totally about BM. Way too much brain work involved. I just got the first season on DVD. Beast Machines is what rekindled my interest in Transformers when it was on Cartoon Network. The show was for adults IMO, which is what I wanted.
This new Cartoon is definitely for a younger crowd if any crowd at all

Ha i said it again. And id rather have AS make one than have to deal with a kiddie version on CN. What they need to do is get some fanboys (im sure AS and CN are full of them) and have them make a show. Have them ask us older fans what we want and make it based on those ideas. Set it on cybertron not earth. Maybe set it in the war within time line. If this were to be made it would have to be on adult swim because it looks like CN has the rights to the TF cartoons now. Hell id rather see the robot chiken guys make a TF show. I just hope that the guys who wrote the clone wars mini series does this. That way we'll at least have an OK story.

Which I couldn't agree more we all have different opinions.

I could go on and on why I didn't like Beast Machines I just point out some of the things that I remember I disliked. Just as you can go on and on, on how much you liked it.

I believe it was to much of a drastic change. Maybe that's why it didn't work that much to me. Plus the atmosphere of the series was dark and depressing I would watch it and it would bored the heck out of me. Nothing with being all dark and depressing but it wasn't MADMAX dark and depressing. It was more like Hawkthorne Heights-spoiled-emo-whinners-depress thing going on.

The visuals didn't bother me but it didn't meant I like them.

Nightscream is by far in my opinion one of the worst Transformers designs ever. Especially with that lame uncool kind of emo flop of hair in his face. The fact that his attitude was whinning most of the time didn't help.

However I do have to mention I love how Cheetor was being this mature calm leader type character. Plus I enjoyed Jetstorm until they turn him into Silverbolt.

The Rhinox Tankor thing I thought it was so out of character. Shocking true, but that didn't meant it was good or well explained.

I was dissapointed because It could have been much better. They had all the tools instead the writer had no knowledge and did exactly what he wanted without caring about what came before unlike Ditillo or Forward. I guess that's why I never forget the name of Bob Skir is being 8 years and I still dislike his work on Transformers.

Let's face it the toys didn't sell like hot fresh cupcakes either. Sad, some of those vehicons toys are cool I got a few myself.


Something I like to point out, I have read some would have lot Transtech to come out and I look at the movie designs and Draxhall's and well is not much different. As an art student myself I saw how similar they look. Is funny because I read a bunch of people against the movie designs but they would love that Transtech would come out. Go figure.

TF history might not have been changed. Remember the Key to Vector Sigma can turn organic into metal. The key was introduced in the G1 cartoon so it is possible. Megatron took it and started turning earth into the "new cybertron". The quints or Sigma himself could've used the key to transform organic cybertron into cybernetic cybertron. Sigma even said it himself "before cybertron was i was". So cybertron could've looked like earth at one point then here came sigma (or the quints) and changed it. BM wasnt great but it wasnt bad either. Armada now thats bad.

Valid point, my friend. But is all especulation cause it was never explained. I always thought maybe the Quitesson created this Oracle thing maybe it was all part of way for them to gain control of Cybertron and BW Megs knew this and deactivated everyone so no could be "infected" organicly like the Maximals did. But they didn't do that on the show so. That's exactly what I mean it could have been amazing instead it was just so-so.

Don't get me started on Armada....

I am just talking about the animation style. I love TMNT 2003. I think TMNT is one of the best shows ever.

What in the hell is that? Here I thought with Star Wars that Hasbro was starting to listen to the fans. I mean That Prime almost looks like the Original. That is crap and with the horrible movie robots coming out I have lost faith in Hasbro.......

Gennedy Tartovsky style doesn't work for just anything. Sure it may work for people and aliens and Dexter's robots, but I just can't see it working here. This may be something we have to see animated though to get past the designs. Good action, voice acting, and story should be able to work despite the character designs.

I don't exactly know why they have to stress that it is Transformers Animated though. It isn't exactly a new concept to Transformers to expect them to be animated. Just because there is a live action movie, but those Transformers are animated as well so WTF?
