Someone made a photograph of it, and it was sufficiently humorous as to make the concept worthwhile in my eyes.

Nice pun!
What's different with the logos (besides the movie ones having that scratched-up metal look to them)?

Decepticon symbol:
The eyes are a different shape and in a different position that in the past. The eyes used to be much lower and an altogether different shape.
Autobot symbol:
The top of the Autobot eyes slant downward toward the nose. The triangle in the middle of the Autobot symbol's forehead no longer has a rounded top: it is now flat across the top.
My Opinion:
This was one of the first things that I was really irked about. I love the Autobot and Decepticon symbols. To me, they're as iconic as many other symbols such as the Coca-Cola logo, the Chevrolet bowtie and many other logos that we see everyday. Originally, I couldn't believe the audacity of the movie people that they thought they need to screw with the time tested Autobot and Decepticon symbols that have been fine for the past 23 years. To me this WAS one of those many unnecessary changes that the movie folks just had to screw with.
And then I saw the packaging and it occurred to me why the changes to the symbols were made (primarily in regards to the Decepticon symbol). If you notice on all of the packaging, the eyes for both symbols now display in the same position since the eyes on both symbols are along the same horizontal line when placed next to each other. I believe this was done for marketing purposes so that the two symbols could be easily interchangeable no matter which one was used. Once I had this realization, I accepted the new symbols because it was very obvious why this was done. Now, I only wish they had colored the symbols. I don't like the all-grey symbols but whatever ... that's the marketing scheme that's being used for this movie. I love the red and purple/blue magnets I have on my fridge of the new movie symbols, which I also use in the graphics for the movie news section.

I get these from BBTS as a set for $59.99. They sold out and were able to get some more but now the set is $79.99.
TFsource had them as a set for $56.99 but they are currently sold out.
However Superbeeds still has them in stock but the set is $104.99!

Also, can the shell-wings be folded down behind to make them less obtrusive? I seem to remember some pictures showing this but I can't remember where.
Candy Coated wrote:The idea is really cute and funny (and the shoe form especially looks great, could probably fool a few people with a picture), but I dunno...when you go back to the original idea? How much fun could a kid have playing with a shoe? Reminds me of the movie Big where he talks about playing with a building.
It also reminds me of the South Park episode with Pokemon. " I choose shoe! "
Candy Coated wrote:*lol* Well I know that, I was just talking about the original intention of transformers. So strange to imagine a shoe...but as it's already been mentioned somewhere earlier, it's Japan.
