I was watching "Starscream's Brigade" this morning, and I noticed something. Just a silly little thing.

As Starscream was just to use the space bridge to head off to Cybertron, he was halted by Skywarp and Thundercracker.

Skywarp said something about how nobody can use the bridge without proper authorization, blah blah blah... And then Starscream points his arm gun thingy at him, and said something like "Here's your authorization." Skywarp and Thundercracker immediately backed off and let him through!

Did those 2 forget they had their weapons too? Not to mention it would've been a 2 on 1 fight. What were those 2 thinking?!?! Geez... they make the conehead seekers look intelligent.

Like I said before, just a silly little thing. But what do you think about it?

Nobody said they were smart. I thought that was a silly scene too.

I think they were just loosely following orders. They felt that they had to say it so they could say to megatron, we told him no, he threatened us so we let him through. Other wise they probably would have just let him through. Anyway, it appeared that they did not even inform Megatron that Starscream had even been through because it was quite a bit later when Megatron realised... They don't care, he's sort of a friend.

I also seem to recall that in the old cartoon they made it seem like Starscream's Null Rays were pretty potent weapons. In addition, Starscream was, IIRC, the fastest of the Seekers, so it might have been just a simple case of Skywarp and Thundercracker just plain feeling outmatched. The 'friendship' between the Seekers only goes so far, and isn't enough of an explanation, IMO. There's numerous episodes where Starscream allows one of the others to take the blame for his failure, and at least one where either Thundercracker or Skywarp get sick of Starscream's attitude and let him fail.

Well he was probably standing pretty close and had his null rays pointed already right? The draw has already been lost, and Starscream wins. These two are so self-serving they aren't going to sacrifice themselves for something this unworthy. I'm sure that's what Starscream was counting on.

Skywarp's already got the muzzle of Screamer's gun about two inches from the end of his nose. He's unlikely to decide this is a great time to start a fight. Thundercracker has never been the most dedicated Decepticon. Always struck me as a combination of not wanting to fight Screamer, and not actually caring if he used the space bridge.

Probably hoped Screamer would be slagged by a malfunction or something.

Dude, I was thinking of the same thing!

I guess you can say it's like 3 guys with guns, and one has his pointed at the one guys head. He gets what he wants.

Also, Starscream had no problems getting rid of the other original seekers in the Movie when push came to shove (remember?).

maybe, in all their colourscheme swapping madness they forgot who they were, maybe thinking that one of them was starscream, and so, woud obviously let him through.

that or it was too much paperwork to fill out.

Yeah, that's funny.

I think Starscream looks out for number one and that's it. I don't think he's got any loyalty to the other seekers, or vice versa. Remember in Fire on the Mountain he was only too eager to blackmail Thundercracker for refusing to attack Skyfire.

Weird thing is, the two seekers didnt report to Megatron that Starscream hijacked the Space Bridge.

This caused Megs to suspect that the Autobots were the ones who stole the personality components.

I guess Skywarp and TC just didn't really give a damn.

Though, you'd think that after spending so much time with each other, they would be better friends. Or... sorta friends...

The easiest answer is the writer didn't think of a reason why Starscream could hop on the Space Bridge just like that. Also, he probably didn't have time to fit it into a 20 minute cartoon. lol

Keeping in the spirit of the discussion, though, Starscream over ranks Thundercracker and Skywarp, so they were probably intimidated by that, and the fact Starscream was ready to shoot them.

Uh. Thundercracker certainly wasnt the type who would get intimidated by Screamer...

Screamer did a pretty good job of intimidating him in Fire On The Mountain.

I always pegged Thundercracker and Skywarp as friends. Starscream they just put up with because he was there and he was a higher ranking officer.

And like people said, Starscream was already in a position to blast Skywarp. Thundercracker probably thought he couldn't take on SS one on one.

As for why they never told Megatron, I never thought of that before. I guess they thought Shockwave could deal with him. As if he wasnt severly understaffed as it was. :P

How do they tell Megatron without risking Megs beating the tar out of them? Clearly, Starscream got by Shockwave without being detected, so they probably figured they could get away with claiming no one had used the space bridge, and Screamer must have flown to Cybertron.

I don't remember a time where he really did anything in the cartoon to prove otherwise. Although I do remember Skywarp and Starscream shoving and bickering in The Ultimate Doom. I guess it just happened, and they decided to let him through.
