Figures like this just shock me. They have great potential.
In the show, he's a talking head in rock. Fair enough.
It's logical they made him this. It was his "transformation", unless they had gone pretty hardcore and made like 3 Unicrons that merge into a perfect taller one.
(Why have no toy companies ever done such a thing? Lots of things in comics, film, shows have smaller units becoming an identical larger unit).

I'm just stumped why it had to look like... this.

It just takes me aback, the thought that a group of people got together and made this, then another group of people ok'd it as acceptable.

They had to have been under some pretty heavy time constraints to squat something out looking like this.

The robot mode of Unicron looks cool at least. Do we know how big it is?

Wow, Unicron looks amazing. And he even turns into a pile of rocks! Show accuracy!

Seriously though, I really do like it, and it's cool that they decided to do something VERY out of the norm with the altmode. All the shiny chrome is quite nice too.

Love it! I also love that people are hating it. maybe it goes onsale and we can troop build this thing?

OK....The robot mode is just awesome enough to leave him on my want list though.... But man.... backpack made of sticks.....

Anyone else thinking that they transformed Unicron wrong? That maybe the legs on each side of the "Face" fold back to become more of a head shape, thus making it like in the G1 cartoon?

I shall dub this rendition...Unicrap! So does he have actual hands that I just can't see or just those large molded spikes?

The intent is that it looks like mountains with a volcano in the middle which has Unicron's face on it, so I suspect it's properly transformed. I think it looks great as is, it's definitely original.

Marketing, no doubt. That may also be a remnant of the fact that the head of his acolyte, The Fallen, is shaped like the Decepticon symbol in RotF and he is considered Megatron's mentor in the movies.
How they're gonna explain that in Prime, who knows?

That combined mode really is aweful. Doesn't even appear functional. Decepticon logos are a no-no as well.

Ironhide looks to be suffering froms some bad Photoshop, but Optimus is probably benefitting from it.

Unicron is OK, but he shouldn't be combining with OP. Maybe he should with Megatron, but it look's weird with both.

If you don't think he should have Decepticon logos, don't put them on. I'm sure they're labels that you have to apply yourself anyway. So just don't.

Decepticon logos suck, and the combined forms look really weird....so much kibble in the back.
Yes, there is something awesome about Unicron turning into his head. But I don't get why they photographed it like that...is it supposed to be mountains, a head, AND a ship? Or is it just so bad the photographers had no idea what it was supposed to turn into?

Hopefully the text in the image is clear enough. Basically, at the top you can see the top of the volcano with the opening where magma is shooting out.

Down the sides (the shiny/chromed bits) are magma flowing down the sides of the volcano as it erupts.

His face is on the front of it from which he speaks (to Megatron?).

All of this hearkens back to the episode where he first showed up.
