Anyone know if there are any plans to realize any of the original series or other cartoons on Blu-Ray. I'm debating buying the dvd collection that is out now or waiting.
Thanks.

Oh come on! you know how it works, right? Only once you buy the original set for a huge lump some of cash, will they release it on blu-ray disc format.

Check out my Art Thread! It actually gets updated from time to time!

I don't think we're going to see a BD release any time soon. Remastering the series again would be expensive, time consuming, and pointless.
Overall, BD sales are dropping as more customers utilize streaming services. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if future series like Prime don't get a physical release at all.

It's not like there would be a huge difference with the older cartoons unless they gave it the DBZ remastered treatment, which was on DVD still. It would have to be re-drawn completely like Dragonball Kai does, for there to be a point of the blu ray. Animated might look good on it, and definetly Prime.

I can't stand streaming media! I don't know why but I prefer to buy a physical copy any day over streaming. Anyways I would LOVE to have the original series on Bluray. It'd be even better if they'd do G1 AND BEAST WARS/BEAST MACHINES. I think both would look great- especially Beast Wars. Maybe do some real extras instead of a 15 min interview here and there or character models. I know I'd buy them. Of course they'd probably release Animated and Prime on Bluray eventually too.

I enjoy having a physical disc with me incase whatever electronic device that has my digital media takes a dump (ex. computer breaks with all digital media on it). From what I have observed when I watch a Blu-ray movie is much higher quality then a digitally downloaded movie, but that's just my opinion.
