I really want the shinier generations Arcee from that expensive Platinum 5 pack. Do you think i'd have much luck selling off the four other figures to recoup some of the cost (and my current normal Gen Arcee) since I've been unable to find that version of the Arcee figure for sale on it's own?
I've no interest in the other four figures:
I already have Voyager Springer that I prefer (since I've done some customising to it I like).
Does that Drift/Blurr have much resale value especially since Titans Return Blurr gave us a proper version?
Is the Ultra Magnus appealing enough to people to want that version over the regular?
Does Kup have much worth? Especially now we've got that more G1-like Titans Return figure out soon?

In the end, personal preference.

Yeah I'm just trying to decide whether or not to spend £140 on a pack of Transformers figures where I only want one out of it and I haven't loads of money in general so would like to make at least a decent chunk of that money back selling the unwanted figures off seperate. It's tricky to make a decision.

I can tell you that the general consensus I've found is that people much prefer how this Kup looks over the Titans Return version. You'd have a hard time selling Ultra Magnus since he's nigh-indistinguishable from the normal CW release.

<insert crotch joke here>
Should you get the set, I'd start the pricing just above the regular retail value of the Classes they're in, since the shininess is the only thing they've got going for them, so some people will only see them as straight re-releases and try to get them as cheap as possible.

Of course there is, like your truly. From the Platinum set, the only figure I want is UMagnus *and the who shall not be named MAmbus (too bad they didn't repaint him into Alpha Trion)*. I didn't like CW because he has the white waist. The TTomy version was even worst for me because I can't stand any UMagnus that has red thigh. As a huge G1 toon UM fan, the Platinum edition was the best version for me since it has the blue waist and white thigh. Too bad the Autobot insignia is not on his shoulder. Although I have not purchase the boxset yet, eventually I will. In the end, I will be keeping UM and his little car, the manual booklet, TFTM backdrop, while my son can keep Kup, Arcee, Blurr, and Springer.

That is true especially for those who own the CW already so for them purchase the Platinum edition don't make sense. The inner voice of me wish the Platinum set has UM in his toon colors a lot more, you know, red bumper, darker blue, give him his single G1 Rocket launcher, like the pic below:

Carnivius_Prime, have you gone ahead and bought the Autobot Heroes set yet? If not, I do have that shiny Arcee from the set that I'm willing to part with. PM me if interested.
As for any naysayers to Ultra Magnus in this set, he is not "nigh identical" to his previous Hasbro release. He is so much better. The blue is much deeper and the white much brighter. There are added paint details too, such as the tire rims. Minimus Ambus has more paint apps as well. The shiny blue paint accents the mold perfectly without looking gaudy or out of place. THIS is the version of Ultra Magnus to have for one's Classics collection.
