Actually, i recommended Classics Voyager Prime, speaking out of my own experience.
I haven't touched or seen any Transformers toys for 20 years. When i came back to see it in the shops, i was really disappointed the old Japanese toys are this BAD.
I even had a reissue Soundwave rebadged as Classics in my hands, selling at a ridiculously bargain price at that moment. Seeing it up close, i eventually rejected it. No can do. G1 Vintage and reissues just simply won't live up to what i want.
Anyway, back to Prime.
A friend of mine has an MP Prime (20th Annive Japs equivalent) for some years. I saw it. Played with it. It was good. But somehow, nothing in me craved to have it.
When Classics Prime came out, there's a surge of want in me. I just got to have it. I bought it immediately. Been playing with it so often ever since.
I mean, I'd have him stand in a certain action pose, with gun in his hand. During a short break from work, instead of going for coffee, i'd imagine Prime doing something or rolling out, so I'd transform him into the truck and put it atop the pad of paper. After a few hours, or a few days, I'd change his pose again, kneeling down, as if hurt from an attack. It's just simply so much fun. My constant buddy on the office table.
I've transformed him for probably 30+ times by now. And i'm still enjoying it. Sometimes, i would point a flashlight behind his head, to glow up his eyes. Seems like the possibilities are endless.
I'd take pictures of him in all those different poses.
And he's amazingly durable. Still no loose joints.
From time to time, i'd check out 20th Anniv Prime on internet. There was once, it came down to $22.50 sale price (Walmart or Toys R Us). I still feel no urge to get him. I can't imagine what I'd do with a hulking heavy 20th Anniv Prime.
