Actually,
http://www.Transformerland.com has a great plethora of Variations and explanations. I went there awhile back to find out about a Lio Convoy, and also learn about my Korean Boxed Big Convoy, an any differences from the Japanese one..unfortunately they have a huge construction sign in their variation section, so you'll have to wait until they fix it..the only one up for now is G-1:-(
http://www.transformerland.com/transfor ... iles1.htmlI did find out that what you have is a first Run figure of Big Convoy, in the first run of that year, there were a few QC issues that developed and that subsequent figure was released in haste, so there are some out there with faulty arm coloring, and chest fading with the blues as well as the head, ect..
The Big Convoy you have on the right is the Japanese 2nd Run, in which the paint applications on the left red-clear arm, are more in line and clean and crisp, as well as the Blue area on his chest which is also in perfect darker blue coloring.. as well as the head, which you can see in that pic you posted has a slightly darker sheen to it..
the other one on the left of the picture as you can see has the paint application problems that Takara had with their first run.. I'd say both were made that year, the one on the left was a first run that had some quality control issues, which were later worked out in their production runs..
Also it was nice to know that the Korean transformers from Takara, are exactly the same as the ones they release in Japan, and they are usually from the later production runs, which means their usually colored more vividly ,a nd the QC issues are generally worked out.. Plus they sell online for really cheap, and their boxes are awesome..
Anyone who wants a Big Convoy should order the Korean Release, it's awesome!!! I'll take some pics sometime today and post them for you guys to see the colors and how much quality is there.. though it's just the same as the one on the right pictured above..
