Exhibit A:

Many believe that starscream is the one behind the attack on megatron, some are doubtful due to starscream not being the leader of the pack of F-22's....well, this is the very first frame that shows any missle's comming from the pack...notice the shot DIDNT come from the first in line, but the 3rd inline..is that you starscream?



Exhibit B:

Many believe that Barricade is still alive due to us not seeing him die on screen. Some claim that he is dead because his door is seen on the ship at the end dumping the decepticons into the ocean....unless there is another shot that i overlooked (and trust me i looked good and hard so i doubt it) barricade is NOT shown on the ships....barricade lives?

I would really like to think that it was Starscream to fire on Megatron first. The Barricade thing is pretty much wrapped up due to the Movie Adaptation comic depicting his death.

Too blurry to really make anything out

the comic and book dont really have anything to do with the movie, even though they are both based on the movie, the movie doesnt have to follow suit with what the book and comic say.

Also the pics arent blurry to the point that you cant see the missle comming from the 3rd jet (its the white line, allthough it is faint) and barricade didnt have any stars at all on his doors (the only white part of his body)..as a matter of fact barricade doesnt have anything on that part of him

....or maybe they're just random F22s.

of course they could be, why i asked "starscream is that you", but this scene does happen RIGHT after starscreams scene..literaly right after...it shows starscream transform into jet mode then it goes back to megatron and prime just intime for those raptors to open fire...it almost cant NOT be starscream

Yeah, it makes sense. I could see it has a fact. Starscream is a bit of a bitch.

I think this whole "Starscream is among the jets" thing is cool and everything, but it's just people grasping at straws.

I liked the movie and everything, but I somehow don't think the writers were that clever to include something like that in the film. This is just fans projecting something they want to see unto something that, in all likelyhood, isn't really there.

i also sort of agree with skowl to a point though too, i thought it was a little stretched when i first heard the theory as well but after seeing the movie 3x in the theater and then another time at home...it seems a lot more clear that there might be some weight to this theory afterall..

I think it depends on how clever Micheal Bay is. It's a cool idea and maybe he just slipped it in there as an easter egg or maybe they are just random F22s. Both theories work.

regardless of the real reason behind it, i just hope that someone that has a brain catches on to this idea and uses it in future movies, accident or not, i think its a great character development set up for starscream

How many times have things happened in novels and comic adaptations of movies that were completely ignored in the movie?
As I have said before case in point

Jurassic Park

JP novel - Ian and Mr. Hammond both die.
JP movie - Ian and Mr. Hammond live.

I read JP for a college class and he clearly dies.

JP2 novel - Ian somehow returns
JP2 movie - Ian returns

Just because it is in print does not make it completely "canon".

Barricade could return in TF2 if Bay or whomever the director is wants to use him.

The Starscream theory has some merit, but sadly, it seems Barricade is done. I suspect that will be one of the DVD extras.

I just post that to show how things can be drastically different in text vs celluloid.
He was awesome and it really would be great if he returns (of course when the DVD is released there could be extra footage.. But of course extra footage is not canon either.)
He has become by far my favorite con from the movie.

I have seen the movie 5 times already. Barricade is alive, he was not seen again after the Decepticons roll out to aid Megs. And the picture above on the carrier is a shot of Blackout. It is the US air force logo, the symbol with the star in the middle. Barricade's door was white with a police/decepticon logo. And starscream was not in the squad of jets shooting at megs. He attakced them after that scene. He transformed into his jet mode to attack them.

1.) Starscream didn't attack Megatron.

2.) Barricade is not confirmed as dead until we're shown proof.

Simple as that.

its really not as simple as that, because you have no proof one way or the other to say that starscream didnt attack megatron, you're just saying he didnt because its not obvious that he did...just because it is not obvious doesnt mean it didnt happen...

if the whole scene with starscream didnt happen RIGHT before megatron getting shot, then i would agree with you, but the way the scenes work, its almost too coincidental...

I don't think that starscream directly attacked Megatron, but I do think that he let some F-22s "get past" him to shoot down Megatron. meaning he let Megatron get hurt

If i remember correctly, SS shot down most of the f-22s but the third group blasted Megatron.

As far as barricade is concerned, my theory is that after bonecrusher transformed on the highway and prime showed up, he just kept on driving and got away! Or Prime could have could have jabbed a blade in his face too, it's 50-50

The movie and the book are never 100% the same...

the excuse with barricade will most likely be prime battled barricade as well but only demobilized him

Exhibit B is Blackout's arm, not Barricade's.

I saw the movie for the fourth time today and was looking out in the Starscream attack scene to see if he did indeed shoot Megs, and I believe he did.

It's pretty clear, he knocks out a few F-22's then rejoins the attack and blows the **** out of Megs. Devious!;)

Skowl's exactly right. This is just wishful thinking guys, sorry. If the writers really wanted to have Starscream attacking Megatron they would have made it explicitly clear, it wouldn't be something so vague that there's 20 threads on here that are nothing but speculation.

ALSO, seems most of you have forgotten this somehow but when they show the F-22's converging on the city they distinctly show 3 seperate groups of jets. Starscream attacked ONE of those groups, so the group that fired on Megatron was most likely one of the other groups.

As cool as it might seem to have Starscream backstabbing Megs and attacking him it's just not likely. It would have been more clear in the film, do you honestly think they'd put something in there that 99% of people are going to miss? C'mon guys, the movie kicked ass but pretty much everything was spelled out for us in the movie.
