I'm with the ten-year-olds on this one.

I'm with them on everything.

It looks really dynamic. Everything the G1 stand-and-shoot-pink-lasers scenes were missing. I've heard they're all standalone episodes, so there's not going to be some lame contrived extendoplot I have to bear with.

Only thing is I didn't really like the voices in the video but they did have character... and, hell knows, it's not the best quality video.

Starscream's looooong face makes me laugh,
Kid is bizarrely cute,
And poster is deceptively ugly.

i cant stand it. its derivative un original tripe that looks like everything else thats been produced in the last decade.

so i reckon it'll do great. mainly because thats just the world we live in. i just pray to primus they dont influence the films and decide to stick the fecking preteener in it "coz thats what the kids like!" :grin:

I say hot. I for one like/liked Teen Titans, The Batman, TMNT, Legion of Super Heros, and Ghost Busters Extreme. I think the show is going work on so many levels.

I agree with you completely. I also have a feeling that if the series is good and g1 fans embraces it then karma/murphy's law/ will dictate that children will hate it and the series will get canned

Its hard to predict these things really. The remake of the MOTU cartoon was a good example of something that appeared to have everyhing going for it at the start but then fizzling out.
I personally think the show looks terrible and has a terrible premise to it. Though, that being said, I still think it will be popular with kids. The toys look better than I thought, so that too could be the saving grace.

And I agree, I think it looks fantastic. It is certainly worth giving a chance to like I have all the other shows that TF have been over the years.

I liked that they were actually giving He-Man a historical figure that was like him fighting Hordak was cool. I just can't remember what they called him, but I am pretty sure it was not He-Man.

I think this show has the potential to be one of the best yet. It's all about plot and character development. If they do this the way they did in TT, then it should do pretty well.

Sure, the stylised look of the toys doesn't cater for everyone's taste (it certainly doesn't for mine), but it's interesting enough to grab people's attention.
I'm still amazed how they can look like that, yet still transform into a decent representation of their show alt modes.

Style does not denote age. And from the intricacies shown here, the back log of info put into this shows an adherance to all walks of age. A good writer does not need to resort to gritty shock value to be 'adult.'

Titans had a rape episode among other adult nods, Animaniacs was full of adult humor, and even Foster's or JLU had pure adult implied moments.

Which of those is a direct 'adult' toon not aimed at kids?
Yet are still highly entertaining to adults, while having adult stories within the context of what looks like a simplistic 'child's story'.

A lot of the issues MOTU had was the way Mattel handled the property. They created little to no brand awareness with kids and it was pretty much doomed from the beginning.

Hasbro, for all it's faults, does a hell of a lot better job at marketing toys than Mattel in my opinion. I don't think there will be any lack of effort on Hasbro's part to correctly market this new property and create awareness.

And you could not find any of the toys anywhere and when you did they were all He-Man or such. They were incredible though, and between the Four Horseman sculpts and the cool cartoon, you'd think they would have had a winner on their hands. TRU also had commemorative sets and figures for sale. There was a lot of opportunity there that apparently just was not what the market wanted.

In the 2002 series, Hordak was an ancient warlock/warlord who managed to "create" Skeletor (in a way) even from extradimensional exile.

You probably mean King Grayskull, whose design actually was based on an earlier He-Man concept for the series that Mattel had rejected.

I don't remember ever seeing him in the series. I must have missed the episodes he was in. He looks pretty cool so it would have been a blast to see He-Man fight him.
