But, that's just my opinion...

But that is a new WRX. The front end didn't look like that when BB was released. Plus the headlights don't match. They are dead on for the 206. I'm not really trying to put up a fight, even though it seems that way. Sorry.

I was looking for an older pic of the WRX (I did one in another thread but cannot find it quickly.) This was the closest I could find in short notice. For me it's the headlights combined with the two radiator intake openings on the front that make Bumbles look more Subaruish to me than 206ish.

And it's not a fight yet, so don't apologize. I never criticize someone else for having a differing opinion. Besides, I love to debate and don't mind trying to defend my position. I'll try to find a better pic to establish my point.

[edit] Okay, here's another pic closer to what I was thinking of. Again, the headlights aren't perfect, but the front grill looks much closer

Image

[edit2] I just can't let it go, can I. I found an older pic that seems to do better with the headlights, and fits better as far as the grill too. Plus, it's a hatchback...

Image

And actually, Overcracker, I think Red Alert was supposed to be more Dodge Magnum like.

Image

edited for a better pic that fits on the screen better, sorry...

The Subaru looks nothing like Classics BumbleBee, and my last car was an STi.

Front end, especially the front grills, and the hood scoop-- I respectfully disagree.

I don't think any car completely represents Bumbles.

Try looking around for old microcassette recorders instead, since that is technically what he is.

I even keep a microcassette from an old answering machine in his chest so I can have my cassetticons displayed around him without his chest looking empty.

The F-14 Tomcat is the base for the robotech jet which was the base for G1 Jetfire's toy. It was also hybridized with an F-22 for G2 Hooligan and Jetfire, and recently received a minicon in the Classics line.

Dirge, Ramjet, and Thrust were all fictionally modified F-15s AFAIK.

Right, in that the core of each was inded the same as the F-15. I believe that Thrust was just a fictional VSTOL F-15, while Ramjet and Dirge were based off existing delta wing designs. (A delta wing, for those who don't know, is a triangular wing setup where there exists no horizontal tail stabilizers. Examples will follow. With wings swept back, the F-14 takes on essentially a delt-wing configuration, though the rear stabilizers still function.)

Ramjet, in my opinion, has many similarities to the French based Mirage:

Image

Image

Obviously not exactly as there is no downward winglet on the wing ends and no twin engine or twin tail setup. In some ways, the wing shape shares the Avro Arrow (CF-105) which is at least a twin engine, but again a single tail fin:

Image

Dirge differs from Ramjet in several key areas, most notably the lack of any tail fins, no wing mounted engines, and a canard setup (the small wing in front of the main delta wing.) The canard is very close to the Swedish JAS 39 Gripen:

Image
Image

Again, there are marked differences, most notably with respect to the engines and the tail fin.

So, in conclusion, I think it is very accurate to say that the original G1 seekers were all based off of the F-15 with wing modifications based on both imaginary possibilities and real world fighter designs. Classics Ramjet goes even further to alter the cockpit shape to change the look a little. He no longer looks F-15 ish at the nose, but maybe more Mirage or MIG like.

Whew!! I love fighter jets!!!

I think he has some elements of of both, Crossfire, and Cadillac, and also some of the Mercedes SL.

Anyway anybody know what car Armada Hot Sot, and Energon Hot Shot are based off of?
Armada:

Enegon:

He seems to have the grill and headlights of an Aston Martin.

But he is a little too robust, for an Aston Martin.

Just at first glance and from that angle, Energon Hot Shot looks a little like a Dodge Viper. This isn't the best picture but the angle lines up to give you an idea:

Image

The backend doesn't seem to match up though.

The Aston Martin Vanquish is kind of close but I see what you mean.

I don't think its the Viper.

For a viper Tf. Look at RID sideburn.

Hot Shot's grill is dead on for an Aston Martin. but the back just doesn't match.

I think i found a match for hotshot's rear. A 2001 Aston Martin Concept car:

Thank you!! That Mercedes was what I was thinking of but couldn't place it.

On Armada Hot Shot: he made me think of a BMW M roadster:

I agree that Energon seems to have an Aston Martin grille. Back from that, it reminds me of some road race cars from ten or more years ago, especially Porsche for some reason (959):

That picture of the Porsche fits pretty well with the overall shape of the body. The roof is kind of square so I can't quite place it. This one is a tough one.
