They are made by a chap named MegaMoonMan, who I originally found on the TFW2005.com forums, but who has since made his own website for the sale of his 3D printed parts. For Metroplex specifically, in addition to the ramp extension pieces, he also makes new knee joints with an additional swivel (necessary to get the legs angled as I have them in the above pic), and new fists with more articulated fingers and the ability to transform a bit to be less obvious as fists in the alt modes.

The ramp pieces and knees are excellent. I couldn't give personal testimony for the fists, as I didn't order them myself, but I have heard that the joints on them can be a it loose, and also the rough finish you get on 3D printed products stuck out more on the fists in photos I saw of them.

Repurposed Animated Leader class Megatron and Ultra Magnus as CHUG toys.

Energon Galvatron has been repurposed as a CHUG and MP toy.

Ordered a Universe 2.0 Dropshot with the intention of customizing him into Megatron. Paint him grey with black missile pods and give him a new head and he'll look great methinks.

Think buying a Botcon Flak toy to repurpose it as Megatron. Would be galaxies easier than spending weeks painting a entire toy. Then customizing a head.

Noticed Botcon Flak has G1 Megatron colors. Even the Flak Head helmet has a bucket shape. With the inner face looking like a G1 Megatron face.

Think the only simple things needed to turn Botcon Flak into a Closer looking G1 Megatron toy. Is painting the head helmet grey. Painting the eyes. Using a few decepticon repro labels stickers.

At the costs he's going for on the aftermarket I think I'll just stick with Dropshot and some paint. Disassembling him should be easy and after that it's just a matter of spraying him grey (and his missile pods black), painting the details and making a new head for him on ShapeWays.

Noticed Botcon Flak doesn't sell for that high on ebay.

I'm not that great with painting toys.

Reads like your better at painting toys than I am.

Do you make parts on Shapeways? Asking as I need a G1 seeker head for that HFTD Leader class Starscream toy. Haven't seen One made on Shapeways or anywhere else.

Theres a new kid in town, so replacing my old Classics Drag Strip with Combiner Wars Drag Strip meant he was available for a repurpose if possible?

I wanted to replace my Neo-Classics PCC Leadfoot so tried a quick parts-swap with Classics Mirage...


Mirages leg/hip socket popped sending a small piece of plastic pinging across my desk!

So much for triying a quick leg swap!

I don't do much repurposing, but with this little collection of small-scale bugs I figured Prime Hardshell's off-model colors made him a perfect Barrage.

Hmmm, I may have to track him down one day. Even if he's a bit too blocky and mechanical to go with Shrapnel and co.

Yeah, he is blocky and he has no knees or elbows but he's a lot of fun. He's also adorable and his weevil mode kicks arse. He hsould be fairly cheap on eBay. He's a large scout, so next to Shrapnel he'll look huge.

Also he has an enormous luminous green drill. Which is awesome.

I'm suddenly reminded of a horrific scene from last week's episode of The Flash.

So, I just bought the Knight of Unicron set on eBay. Since the liner notes are online, I know there's other characters in this weird little micro-contnuity, and I figured why the hell not? I'm using the Beast Hunters deluxes for Starscream, Arcee, and Bumblebee, although admittedly the Beast Hunters aesthetic is more GWAR than KISS. I wasn't gonna bother with Rumble, but I have a TFP Rumble not doing anything so what the hell.

Maybe, but the Combiner Hunters are their own set and I don't want to break it up. So that's why it was a choice between NYCC Arcee and BH Arcee for me.

So I recently picked up a WfC Air Raid, but have no idea how or who I am going to use him as...any thoughts on a good character I could use him to fill a gap as?

He's meant to be WFC/FOC Fireflight, but Hasbro couldn't use the name at the time.

I too have a FoC Air Raid which needs a better repurpose. Going on the pics below I am thinking about trying him as Neo-Classics Targetmaster Misfire.
I might clean off some of those gold/silver paint apps, exposing more red plastic then throw on a few pinky/red stickers and paint his head?
Heck, one could even go as far as swapping his chest piece out with FoC Shockwave, giving him that pinky/red chest and a little Decepticon purple for good measure!
