Request: RID (2001) Ultra Magnus inventory

Motto: "Earthrise restock or riot"
So, I have a very partial RiD Ultra Magnus (As in, I have the weapon, with targeting panel, and both of the legs with the attendant trailer side panels) that I'm trying to complete. But I would like to see an inventory of all his various detachable parts so that I know for sure what all I'm missing.

EDIT FOR CLARITY: And by detachable parts, I don't just mean all the parts that separate for combination. I also want to know all the bits that can get accidentally popped off or broken off (and subsequently lost), because since they can come off, they may well have come off on a secondhand example.

Sure is. It does have the white main cab and the rocket booster aka the sound box connect with hinges, plus two blue pieces on the side that swing up, so make sure nothing's broken off.

Basically, each piece is an add-on for Omega Prime: the legs are the boots, arms are arm extensions, the cab is the chest.

Actually, I just took a look at some pictures to double check and... No. No, it really isn't. :roll: Like, the breastplate with the Autobot logo is a separate piece from the rest of the cab that pops off. And Mags' head seems like it might be separate as well.
If there are parts that pop off without damage (and that are therefore potentially missing on a secondhand example), then it isn't all one piece. I would further argue that from a secondhand collecting standpoint, parts that are prone to easily breaking off (*cough* the roofs of Jazz and the Datsuns *cough*) also make a figure not count as "all one piece" and are worth mentioning separately.

And from the look of the pictures, the lower arms you spoke of aren't all one piece each either - the hands come off at the very least

For those wondering why I even made this thread instead of looking at pictures, well... Not every bit that can pop off is obvious from photos

I was referring to the blue pieces that the weapon attaches to in Omega Prime mode.

But yeah, lots of moving parts on that guy. I don't remember which parts have metal pins (breakage) or are plastic hinges tho.

The blue chromed bumper/chestpiece may be a separate piece, but its actually pinned to the grill portion, which itself is pinned to the cab.

So it doesn't just come off. It may be broken, but that would be directly visible even if you did not know it was a separate piece.

What you mean is, any hinge that can be detached whether normally or by breaking the pin off, is a separate piece.

In which case all the leg panels are on pinned hinges, the kneepads also pinned that could potentially break off, the arms are ball joints that could be removed, the ramp pieces could be snapped off. The red under panels could also be broken, and they have a couple of other hinged pieces that may come off every single panel in the forearm pieces is pinned and could be broken off etc...

In general by that definition every single movement point constitutes a separate piece and the list of pieces would generally be endless if that is the case and impossible to list in its entirety. Also things that could be simply snapped off, such as Omega Prime's horns, or Magnus's ear pieces. Rubber tires could be missing, but again would be pretty obvious if they were.

The more likely pieces to be missing and the ones you would really need to worry about in reality are the separate accessories (gun, targeting panel, missiles) the red hinged panels, Magnus' little rounded chest pieces, tires and the hands. Most other panels and bits are unlikely to be missing and would be pretty obvious if they were broken off even if you did not know what actually needs to be there.

If the grill portion is actually pinned to the cab as you claim, that pin must be very prone to falling out because I've seen a number of cabs with it off yet no visible sign of damage, and two different listings of the chestpiece separately, again without obvious signs of damage:

Overcracker wrote:What you mean is, any hinge that can be detached whether normally or by breaking the pin off, is a separate piece.

No, what I mean is that any piece that can be detached normally or any piece that's PARTICULARLY vulnerable to getting broken off. Not just any piece that could technically come off, but something that's at HIGH RISK of it. That's why I brought up Jazz and the Datsuns' roofs - sure, other molds' roofs can technically break off too but Jazz's roof is far more likely to have snapped off than, say, Sideswipe's.

Actually, I don't need to worry about the gun and the targeting panel being missing because as it happens the gun is one of the parts I already have. I also have the legs. Going to edit the first post to spell that out.

Here is the one separate listing I have found for the cab by itself (as opposed to being part of an Omega Prime parts lot):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Transformers-R ... resh=truep
Look at all that's missing. The arms in their entirety, the head, the trailer roof panels, those red hinged panels you mentioned, the chest shield... So, rather a lot of important stuff, and decidedly more than what you said would be missing.

It's important to me to be able to know what exact parts are present and what are missing so that I know what I should be looking for, what to ask for in a want thread and The Want List
WANT:
* Cyb. Galvatron key, missiles
* Omega Lock
* Primus Cyber Key, coattail panel
* Powerlinx Comettor
* Leader Sentinel Prime sword, shield
* RiD Galvy dragon head, beast arms

I apologize. The Bumper is pinned to the grill, the grill part is not pinned to the cab. It is frictioned hinged to it. On my Ultra Magnus its quite tight. So unless I really pull on it, it doesn't really come off, which led me to believe it was pinned. I am sorry.

Here is the one separate listing I have found for the cab by itself (as opposed to being part of an Omega Prime parts lot):

The shoulders are actually folded back so can't really tell if the arms are not there.What's missing are the forearm/hand sections, which are Omega Prime parts. Those detach normally for transformation.

It is missing the Ramp Panels on the electronic backpack.

It's also missing Omega Prime's head, it should be visible inside the cab.

Image

As I said, the Forearm sections come off for transformation, these include the fists for both Magnus and Omega Prime which are on ball joints on either side of the forearm sections.

Shoulders are also ball joints, and forearm connectors are also on ball joints connected to the upper arms.

I did mention the Car carrier ramps could be missing.

magnus1.JPG

Omega Prime's gold head antennae could be easily broken.
The Leg parts obviously can be detached. The Panels are pinned in so should not be missing.

what can be missing, and generally is are the Omega Prime toes. The toes are just friction hinged and can be popped off.

Magnus chest that becomes Omega Prime's crotch has 2 small panels on friction hinges that are prone to popping off and would be likely missing.

Weapon: Battle Blades
Wow, if there were awards for pedantry this might win one.

I'd say to anyone on this level of concerned: buy one sealed.

Thank you very much for the help and for your time and patience, Overcracker. I should be able to make a complete shopping list now.

ScottyP, what I'm concerned with is knowing what all parts (especially important parts; things that are justminor detail parts I can probably fabricate) I'm missing versus what I already have, so that I know what to put in a want list. I highly doubt just writing "Everything but the legs and the gun" is going to get me anywhere, people tend to want specifics.
WANT:
* Cyb. Galvatron key, missiles
* Omega Lock
* Primus Cyber Key, coattail panel
* Powerlinx Comettor
* Leader Sentinel Prime sword, shield
* RiD Galvy dragon head, beast arms
* Leader Ironhide windshield, R hood assy.
