Roller does have a gun, so i'll go w/ him

weird fight man. artoo has alot of upgrades and new attachments, but hes still not designed to be a fighter, and roller might be small a far as transformers go, but i think if he rammed artoo with a big of speed behind him it would do alot of damage.

its hard to pick, roller is fast and can avoid firepower for a while, but then artoo doesnt even have firepower. this fight would have to end at close range, and neither of them really have any weaponry. artoo can use some of his tools as weapons, but they arnt that well suited for it. i suppose this depends on how long artoo can actually fly for. the only way i see him winning is waiting until roller is about to ram him, spraying the ground with oil and then taking off, leaving roller to slide around in some flaming oil until he crashes, which may or may not end the fight. then all artoo really has is his cutting blade, which i think would be fairly useless, and a small welder, so hed have to get in really close really fast to try and damage something vital.

artoos tools seem to change with every profile i read of him, but he hasnt got a whole lot to fight with. he can surprise some expecting opponent, like the droids in ep 3, but he just isnt built to fight. if roller has any kind of weaponry, which he does in some continuitys, hed win. otherwise id give artoo the advantage, but its not a guaranteed win.

My Roller came with a fuel hose, back in the good old days of 1986. I think he's supposed to be an emergency refuelling drone for Autobots. Roller could pump fuel into R2-D2, set light to it and thus explode the droid. It would be fun to see the little operator dwarf from inside fly through the air, engulfed in flame! [I'm a sicko.]
