If she is "officially pronounced dead" then there "IS" some "official mention of her" at least in the form of a death certificate.
And if there was a official death certificate for a Sari Sudmec then there would at least be a birth certificate as well.And records as to her life and death.

When you say "Indian" you mean "from India" right? Not "Native American" or "Mr. Christopher Wrong Way Columbus thought he was in India when he discovered America" Indian.
Issac actully does seem to have an accent allmost like Apu from the Simpsons but not as heavy. It would make sence that they were decended from India.
