Motto: "One shall stand, one shall fall."
Weapon: Static Laser Gun
Optimus Prime is the face of the franchise. Always has been; always will be. He will go down in the annals of history as one of the greatest North American heros of all time. No doubt Hasbro by now knows this, as well as Mr. Bay. Prime cannot be taken from the storyline for long or the popularity of Transformers diminishes. For this reason Optimus Prime will only ever suffer a token death to return to glorious victory over the Decepticons. If the powers that be ever choose to kill Prime again it will only be to have an emotionally charged return as the climax to the story.

Just give him some near-death experience. But don't kill him.
