Okay, so, you guys and news staff alike may have noticed I've been quiet. Well, due to a combination of family birthdays and Father's Day, last week was basically nothing but family gatherings and barbecues. Needless to say, I was exhausted from that alone. However, my digestive system decided to not agree with 75% of the food I ate at said gatherings, which means I was in pain. A lot. Not fun. But now summer's in full swing, I can get back to posting and newsing, and hopefully this weekend I can go toy hunting!

Well, Highway 35 was made in the early '00s, to celebrate Hot Wheels' 35th anniversary. There was a full length movie, as well as 35 cars and a track set (and a video game or two if I recall correctly). It's also where Vert Wheeler's character originated, though it and Battle Force 5 are unrelated in terms of story.

Highway 35 received a sequel series called Acceleracers, taking place two years later and featuring most of the central cast returning (including Vert), along with new faces. Four one-hour movies were produced, though unfortunately, the fifth and sixth were cancelled. Somewhat luckily, the ending of the fourth and final one released does serve as an ending, just one with several loose ends and one hell of a cliffhanger. 36 main cars were produced specifically for Acceleracers, and were sold alongside track sets and other things.

...why am I talking about this? Because this stuff was my childhood!...my early childhood, at least. After the close of Acceleracers, my interest in Hot Wheels dwindled...and Transformers replaced it. It basically went like this:

Kid Sigma: I can have cool tiny cars...or I can have bigger cars that turn into robots!!

And thus, my main hobby shifted entirely.
Anyway, I've been rediscovering the movies over the past few weeks, and it's been a huge nostalgia rush, so I just wanted to share. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they've aged.

If you guys are curious (which I hope you are), here's all five movies in a single video!

Wow, I had no idea that Highway 35 and Acceleracers actually had Vert in them, and several of the BF5 voice actors. that's pretty cool! BF5 is a personal favorite in case that wasn't blindingly obvious

So, I went into storage (read: the boxes in my bedroom) and found a bunch of Hot Wheels...including pretty much all of Acceleracers. I...didn't remember having that much! Unfortunately, it's all loose, banged up, and very dusty, so they're essentially useless...but hey, let's take a look anyway! (D-Max, dunno if you've started watching yet, but I hope you don't mind car spoilers!)

So, first off are the big things: The Hyper Pods and the Sweeper. With the former, you put a car in and it does stuff like go super fast, climb, drill, stuff like that. The Sweeper sucks cars up and spits 'em back out.



Now for the cars proper. The Teku!



The Metal Maniacs!



The Silencerz!



The Racing Drones!



Lastly, a special edition, some duplicates, variants, and late-wave redecos (we know all about those, right? )



In addition, outside the 'proper' collection, is what seems to be a random homage release from five or six years after.



Anyway, here's everything. I have every single mainline car, as well as the Hyper Pods and Sweeper. Hope you enjoyed!
