So I went and saw the midnight showing of the Simpsons movie.

It wasn't that bad, I went in expecting an hour n' half long episode, and thats that we got.

It wasn't a bad film, the jokes were pretty funny. But that made up 90% of the film. It had a strong beginning, but petered out somewhere near the middle. If it wasn't for the jokes, it would have sucked.

90% Jokes
5% Story
5% Character development(sorta)

If you're not a huge Simpsons fan, I wouldn't bother with the movie right off the bat, wait till it goes to a dollar theater to see it.

Edit: Stay for the credits if you do happen to see it. There is nothing after the credits, but theres a few things during.

At least it was better than most of the newer seasons. I went to see it yesterday(its been on here since Wednesday).

The sequence where Bart is skateboarding naked is really good especially the end. No couch gag at the start, though they do have a blackboard one:

It's a good movie. Not a great one, but a good one. I enjoyed it.

I must watch this movie.

I see it as a super-long awesome episode...episode you don,t see much today!

I got one thing to say....

"I've spent my entire life up to this point collecting plastic robots, video games, and comic books. Life well spent! "

I thought it was a good movie, and certainly worth seeing. It's too bad the previews probably killed at least 10 jokes.

I have to say it. That was the best part of the whole movie. Just because they actually did it. The crowd reaction was priceless.


But for the most part, it was dumb. Fun, but dumb. There wasn't enough scenes with the random citizens. Patti and Selma didn't even speak. Skinner was only in one shot. Burns was just in a few jokes. I know there's no time, but they could have done something more.

There wasn't enough with Lisa either.

I really enjoyed it, but like most, went in expecting a feature length ep - its my opinion that it was "movie plot" style. Although, I felt it dragged a bit after the middle point.

Grand Theft Walrus. I want to play that!!!

I laughed more throughout this movie than in the past 5 seasons, nuff said.

I have yet to see it (surprised?), but I have every intention of seeing it. and it looks like the reviews are surprisingly positive.

I was thinking, and I find it a little surprising at the overall lack of guest voices for a big screen movie. It just seems odd that Simpsons has had so many guest voices over the years, and there were just four in the movie.

And there must be deleted scenes. In the credits, Kang's name appears, but I dont' remember him being anywhere in the movie, and unless he appeard in the mob and they're counting that as a voice appearance, then that's at least one deleted scene.

And is Dr. Nick dead?

I haven't been a fan in many years. So i'm glad I didn't bother too see it

I just got back from seeing the movie and I liked it, even though I haven't watched the show in a long time. I enjoyed those little whatever you call them during the credits especially the last bit. I'am an usher so I can understand how that guy felt.

Alot more laugh out loud moments than I was expecting. There was a 60 odd year old woman sitting in front of me and she was almost on the floor laughing at the skateboarding bit.

It did fizzle out of funnyness after about half an hour, but the ending picked up a little.

I don't think anything that happens in the movie will affect what happens in the series, though Duke of Lons, that certainly happened in the movie. Though I think that was just for his gag.

Mind you, I didn't check every single inch of the crowd frame, but they were missing Kang and Zordo (did I get the aliens' naems right?), Lewis, Lisa's music teacher, Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz (obviously the voices wouldn't be there), and that pale kid from Bart's class. Probably a bunch of others. Not that they had to cram everyone in, but this seems like the type of movie that would try.

Who's Lewis? I did notice some like the crazy Iodine lady, lisa's 'rival', the one voiced by winona rider, and a few others who I forget now. But you're right. Kang and the other alien are surprised to be missing.

Uh, dude, it's kinda hard for a dude who's been dead for 9 years to do any voice acting work whatsoever.

Uh, dude, it didn't have to be his voice. A dedication, a mention, or old sound clips would do.

Yeah and Jim Henson's been dead for nearly 2 decades but Rowlf keeps showing up in Muppets projects. He's even spoke since his death (using a different va of course).

Oh him. Forgot about him. I'm sure I saw Lionel Hutz in one of the mob scenes looking very angry at Homer. It may have been when he was trying to get to the treehouse, but dont quote me on that.

I thought the movie was good... not great.

I must say I would love to have the "Spider-Pig" song as my ring tone.

That movie was hilarious! I was laughing so hard with my friends. Man, I can't believe they show Bart winky in this movie! I give it four stars!
