Swindle01 wrote:trust me igear wouldnt give a crap if it was his designs. If he talked to them and agreed on a price then they would pay for the figure off him and mass release it by getting solid plastic copies made. I know the guy who made igears ratchet and ironhide and he just did the prototype for them and there mass releasing it. He has nothing to do with it now. Did all the plans, got prototypes made and then when finished igear started mass making them
i know afew other guys who did some stuff for igear. To be honest if chad just spoke to igear and gave a fully finished version with no flaws then igear would pay him a fair price for it and the rights and then mass release it for us all. Would save his reputation and save his collection from being sold
If anything chad needs to read this but i dont think hes even on these boards. I know hes a 2005 member but im not registered on that site
Swindle01 wrote:no stormrider ur missing what im getting at, the guy who i know who made igears ratchet and ironhide that will be released soon enough did the prototype himself after hours of work doing the plans on the computer and getting various prototypes done
Igear paid him to make the ratchet and ironhide as they saw other stuff he was capable of doing
what im getting at is that if chad gives igear a call and says he has this figure and if they would be interested in making it - then they will make it if they can see profit in it. Even if chad needs to work on it some more he could get the figure made by igear and they would pay him for the rights/prototypes/plans and designs for it which should save him from having to sell his collection

I would love to be able to help him out with this, and hopefully help to allow him to keep as much of his collection as he can.

Anyone, please, before he's lost his entire collection?

I can't imagine the pressure that is now on Mr. Chad's shoulders, and I can respect the actions he is now taking. I'd love to go to Slagacon but it's not realistic for me this year.
If I may push my luck, why does everyone assume the designer of Vector Zeta is a con-artist? Reading through the comments no one seems to know who he is, so why judge so harshly? All Slagacon has said is there's been no communication. Maybe the designer was just some guy who got all excited because a big Transformers convention wanted his figure as their exclusive. Maybe he started to have ambitions of being ranked amongst the 3rd party greats and got a bit carried away. He perhaps realised he'd bitten off more than he could chew and got scared and ran, afraid of the results of owning up and saying he couldn't fulfil the orders.
I'm not saying that's definately the case or that such actions are acceptable. I'm simply pointing out that the guy wasn't necessarily planning on screwing everyone over from the start. It's easy to villainize those we don't know.

You know, that may be the case. Mr. Nice Guy Chad, won't expose the "manufacturer" who is somewhat well known in the TF collecting community as a customizer I believe. I don't know who it is, but Chad has posted some emails from the guy and the year long run around this guy is given Slagacon. I've personally asked who this guy is and never heard a response. I figured some fan pressure would help grease the wheels (I didn't even order this set but the issue has me irate, as a convention goer, a collector and a customizer). Alas, this scoundrel maintains anonymity, and Chad, CEO and Founder of Slagacon, continues to respond to this issue with dignity and responsibility.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
Swindle01 wrote:if you mean KIDBASH who made the roadbuster kit for captain america then no it isnt him who was making these. I asked him personally when the idea was first shown up and he said no way would he take on somert like that as the roadbuster kit was difficult enough
Then again i never trusted kidbash, paid him for the roadbuster kit and never recived it, said he sent out a replacement twice yet those also never arrived. Had to make a paypal claim in the end

Awesome, thanks!
edit: Donation sent.
It showed the name as Kristen Williams for that email address, but I made sure to put a note stating what the donation was for (to help Chad to conserve his collection) so I'm sure they'll do the right thing with the fundage I sent.

I believe Kristen is his wife, she helps to run the convention...she usually is at the door taking your money![]()
as for the customizer, TPANG might be the name...or something like that. Whatever reasons he has its no secret he bit off more than he could chew but instead of accepting that and returning the money, he strung Chad and everyone else along. And that deserves no respect.

the person who screwed chad over was someone else/some other factory or what have you
