and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. He looks good in robot mode but his alt mode is hideous. He comes apart during transformation. His arms fall off. Not too thrilled about the spinning cannon. On the plus side I like how the instructions give more info about him. I guess that falls under "Things you didn't know you're TF instructions could do."

How do others feel about Beast Hunters Shockwave?

I have yet to see him in my neck of the woods. I want him for bot mode. Just by looking at the pics, i figured I would not like the alt mode.

yeah i have yet to see him too but i think both modes look good. both modes are accurate to the show so im happy.

Bot mode is awesome, alt mode is just "robot yoga".

I like him. His robot mode is awesome, his alt mode is a bit meh, but at least he doesn't transform into a goddamn handgun (stupidest transformation ever. Yes, that includes G1 Megatron)

The last Shockwave with a decent alt-mode was the Animated Voyager. Deal with it.

That said, I like Beast Hunters Shockers quite a lot. He scales well with the other Prime figures (except PRID Megatron), and his gun hose makes him look very show accurate. The only thing I don't particularly care for is how loose his cannon is to fit in the spinning gimmick.

Meanwhile in the 3rd party realm:

I actually liked DOTM's alt mode. More than Animated and FOC in fact. But that's IMO.

Speaking of Animated, Animated Wave is still my favorite decepticon of all time based on character.

I'm still looking for one. Right now all the toy stores around my house are clogged with Smokescreen and Starscream. I may have to give up and order one online.

I picked a shockwave up this past tuesday, and it was broken in package. :-(

But thankfully there was another one at the store so I rushed back and returned it for other Shocky, which was a lot better quality. I love his bot mode, but his alt mode is "ok". Still to me the best alt modes for a Shockwave/Blast would be the energon Shockblast satellite mode.

That movie gets better with every viewing.

So my 2 cents is that I hope the Takara release benefits like Ultra Magnus. I heard and read all the flaws that came with Voyager Prime UM and I must say there were none that I could find with Takara's. It was nothing but greatness and IMO a great figure. So I hope the lightning strikes twice with Takara SW especially with the legs issue when in bot mode.

I definitely think SW's arm cannon looks more like a giant dust buster. That way when sees any

he's inclined to say..."suck you

".

The vehicle mode isn't great, but I can live with it, and I've certainly seen worse.

And am I the only one who thinks the spinning cannon is fun?

Nope you aren't. I like his spinning fun alot more than than the dotm Shockwave's mechtech.
