something I descovered about my classics bumblebee and cliffjumper?

Postby shortround » Sun Jul 29, 2007 12:15 am

Back during the spring I bout a reissue set of predacons which I love to death, What i discovered today because I was bored was that both bumblebee and cliffjumper could hold any of the predacons guns. Though I decided to use tantarum and headstrongs guns for this I'm sure they can also hold the predacons swords but I haven't tested that yet. Just thought I would let people know who are look to spice up classic figures a little bit.

Yeah, classics BB and Cliffjumper could even hold the guns from Cybertron, Energon and Armada...my friend uses BB to wield Energon SS's energon sword. too big to scale but pretty cool looking nonetheless.

Also CJ has head articulation while BB doesn't.

You're missing the point: the weapons of Armada, Energon and Cybertron are supposed to be interchangeable when the fist holes had a standard size. That standard size wasn't established in G1, so guns of one figure fitting in another's hand was pure coincidence. :)

Still funny though.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

i use classics optimus' large red cannon for clffjumper's glass gas cannon and ultra magnus' smaller smokestack gun for bumblebee. optimus and magnus holding two guns while those little bots have none is just greedy.

No, Zemper, he IS talking about Classics BB and CJ. But he was also talking about G1 Predacons. G1 Predacons, and G1 figures in general, did not have standard fist holes, but A/E/Cyb/Classics/Universe DO have standard fist holes. So Classics BB and CJ being able to hold *G1* weapons is pretty cool.

Nice find, Shortround.

That's so cool with BB and CJ. I don't know why I never tried that. I found my G1 Ultra Magnus can use minicons on his left arm, so right now he has the Skyboom Shield. G1 Metroplex has the Reqiuem Blaster and G1 Galvatron has the Star Sabre.

oh, ok. i stand corrected.

yeah, i remember back then that they never had the same holes in their fists for weapons - they never got it standardized. i never had any of the predacons back then - they were not released in our locality back in '85. nor any of the combiners, as far as i can remember.

My classics Bumblebee is holding a G1 weapon, as well... 'though I can't remember who it used to belong to. Certainly no Predacon, though.

Nice find, Shortround.

With G1 weapon handles and fist holes not being standardised the cool thing here is the Predacon weapons being the right size for modern standard holes, not BB and CJ in particular being able to hold them since now the sizes are standard, anyone could hold them.

Fortunately enough, I was just able to confirm the vague suspicion I had - It belonged to Gunrunner (Autobot Pretender).

Weapon: Particle Beam Cannon
I don't have pics to show it but I'm using the gun from the KO G1 Silverbolt (since I don't own him anymore) for BB and the small RID Prime gun for Cliffjumper. It REALLY helps the firepower of my Autobots ALOT. And just so that Bugbite doesn't feel left out I'm using the really small RID Hightower handgun for him.
Collection Count: Just enough G1 & Classics to make this look good!
