Which leads me to this...I'm so glad I didn't end up losing money over this pathetic excuse of an album.
Let's go over the list shall we?
1. What I've Done
Artist: Linkin Park...(Excellent song. One of their better ones. Too bad it wasn't written for the film, just borrowed.)
2. Doomsday Clock
Artist: Smashing Pumpkins...(Sounds pretty good. A little shocking to see them doing their thing again.)
3. This Moment
Artist: Disturbed...(Normally, I can find something I like about their songs. ("Get Down With The Sickness" and the cover of Genesis's "Land Of Confusion" come to mind..) but not this one. It just seemed like a lot of grunting and making their voices hoarse to me.)
4. Before It's Too Late [Sam and Mikaela's Theme]
Artist: Goo Goo Dolls...(Bland, bland, and oh...did I say bland? I love their music for the most part, they've had some kick ass songs along the way. This one however...is bad. "Iris" from "City Of Angels" is a nice, memorable ballad, still plays to this day. This one, however, will most likely be sent to the bottom of the clearance bin by next summer.)
5. Pretty Handsome Awkward
Artist: The Used...(Stupid title, song is not my style, and I didn't like the sound of it.)
6. Passion's Killing Floor
Artist: H.I.M....(Eh, goth rock is something I don't understand, so perhaps those of you who do, will. Personally I just couldn't get into this song at all. I tried. I know Bam Margera is a friend of their's and he usually has weird, but good and goofy taste. This time, they just weren't up to par. At least not for me, and since this is the first time I've heard them, I hope it doesn't ruin them for me. I doubt I'll listen to anymore though, first impression was less than stellar.)
7. What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost? [Edit]
Artist: Taking Back Sunday...(Heard of 'em, song wasn't bad, wasn't great, definitely not memorable. Bland.)
8. Second To None
Artist: Styles Of Beyond...(This is the song Bumblebee plays when Prime meets the kids and tells Sam that BB is his guardian. Listening to more than just that clip makes you want to shut the player off. =\)
9. End Of The World
Artist: Armor For Sleep...(Another odd titled band, and yet another boring, bland song. I just couldn't get into this one. Felt like droning on to me.)
10. Retina And The Sky
Artist: Idiot Pilot...(I could barely get through the first 45 seconds of this song. Needless to say, I thought it SUCKED.)
11. Technical Difficulties
Artist: Julien-K...(To be honest, I just listened to it about 10 minutes ago and there's just nothing I remember about it. Hell, I probably should listen again before making my final judgment, but as is...no. Not recommended.)
12. Transformers Theme
Artist: Mute Math...(It was pure crap to begin with, and it continues to be. Oh how it's like having nails run down a chalk board....)
All in all, I was thoroughly unimpressed with this one. Normally movie soundtracks of this nature really appeal to me. (Spider-Man, and Spider-Man 2 were absolutely fantastic.)
This one just doesn't cut it for me, and apparently not too many others. I don't see people buying it, or read about it online, etc.
Bay's used to having the songs become major hits (such as "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing"* from Armageddon, etc...) but he won't win that battle here. No, nothing remotely memorable about this soundtrack other than you'll be able to say "Oh yeah. I listened to it once, when it came out. Geez, that was what? Like 5 years ago? Wow, it's not even in the clearance bin. Talk about suckage."
To borrow someone else's review style...
I have to give TransFormers The Album a barely earned

*= which I was nominated for an Oscar! (No worries here...that won't happen.)
