So last night, to take my mind off all the **** going on in my life my friend took me to see Lizzy Borden, Lordi, and a band called Stolen Babies. Before the show I gave the Stolen Babies a listen, I wasn't to impressed. But live they were FANTASTIC. When Lizzy took the stage I almost passed out from excitement. It was surreal actually seeing him in person. He got down in the little pit between the stage and floor and got on the guard rail right in front of me and was singing. it was so cool. His guitar player was so insane.
After Lizzy's insane stage show I was kind of leery to see if Lordi could come anywhere near the amazingness of Lizzy **** Borden. Sure enough, they came pretty damn close. Amen, Lordi's guitar player, was as insane as Lizzy's guitar player but did the Angus Young strut thing across the stage. Its amazing seeing a guy in a costume move around like that. He threw his first pick into the crow and it landed on my friends shoe. I was really bummed because the girl next to me kept swatting the picks away from us. It was so annoying. The last song of their set was Hard Rock Hallelujah. After the last note of the song was played Amen in one fluid movement went from playing to throwing the pick into the crowd. I swear it was like a moment in a movie. When I looked up it was like slow motion and the lights dimmed around it. It landed in the palm of my hand and in my head a choir of angels began to sing
At least it was like that in my head, but it was like one of those "fateful" moments that makes you forget about all the bullshit thats in your life and just appreciate things you don't normally think about.
I've had other awesome and meaningful moments at concerts, but this was the latest and was really special.
Anyone else have any?
