Again, you can't argue with Aliens. I wouldn't say *every* time. Just most times.
I'm still holding out on a press release saying that Raimi and Sony kissed and made up. Probably won't happen, but I can hope.
That's not what I meant. I meant movies where the director is replaced during production. I can't exactly name anything off the top of my head, but it's usually much worse. What Fanboys almost became is a good example.

You recall wrong. The Mummy went though several directors, sure, but filming didn't begin until Stephen Sommers was hired to direct.

Interesting. Honestly, my knowledge of it was only from news reports at the time. Heavily delayed and many directors.

You heard wrong. It took one year to make, with only one director the whole time.
Absolute Zero wrote:I gather that. I wonder why the news reports at the time said it was delayed, over budget, and went through a bunch of directors.![]()
Absolute Zero wrote:Oh well, I don't mind being wrong as long as I get corrected.

Vulture can report that Sony will imminently announce a deal with (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb to direct not one, but three Spider-Man movies in a rebooted franchise that will focus far more on the private life of Peter Parker.

There was some idiotic wishful thinking that he'd be called to play Spider-Man. People are so vehemently against even just the thought of that that they posted an anti-Pattinson campaign.
Sad thing is, the poor guy hasn't even been asked, nor has anyone ever said he was being considered, and he's already being vilified.
He's got too much on his plate with the Twilight sage, plus any British productions he might be in, or about to be in.
Would he even accept Spider-Man if it was offered to him? I doubt it. Twilight put him on the map and made him famous with people of all ages, whereas a superhero movie could seriously damage his career like it did Tobey Maguire's. (Do you honestly think we'll see Maguire do anything that'll even be noticed now that he's not Spidey? Of course not.)
It's nothing to worry about. Just a few idgits wanting their dreamboat to be something he most likely will never be.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

That's what makes him cool. He only signed on so he could hit on Kristen Stewart (Admit it, despite the fact that her mouth doesn't close, you'd do stupid things to hit on her too), but then realized that everything that came with his contract (fangirls included) wasn't worth it.
That said, no I can't see him playing Peter Parker. Robert Pattinson seems way too much like the rich cool kid, the exact opposite of Peter, who is supposed to be the nerdy outcast, someone comic book readers can really relate to.

I don't know if there could be a better JJJ than in the old movies...
I've just re-watched Spiderman 3, and... while 2/3 of the movie is awesome, the New Goblin, the "who-shot-the-uncle" and Venom lines of the story make the rest wasted.

Me, Grimlock! wrote:I'm not really sure myself. From the comics, it was Sandman. But one of my beefs with the movie was that they made you sympathize with him by making him a "not such a bad guy after all" type of character. Green Goblin was not such a bad guy until his serum changed him, Doc Ock was not such a bad guy until his arms took him over, and Sandman was not such a bad guy because he was doing it all for his daughter. Someone should tell Raimi that there ARE bad people out there.
Other than that, I thought Sandman wasn't bad.

IF they had decided not to reboot and keep the original cast and director we could have got Carnage. But he is a serial killer so im not sure how they would go about the character.
