There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

Isn't that an oxymoron?

All I know is, if a Transformer looked like ****, why should I buy it?

Well, no one said -you- had to. But I happen to like both Star Trek and Star Wars, and even if the transformation was kinda crappy, I thought they were still pretty cool in vehicle mode. The fact that they actually could transform was just a bonus. I'm sure at least one other purrson out there has to feel the same way.

Humans never encountered the Borg till TNG.

That Enterprise episode completly changes how the humans came into contact with the Borg in the first place and would make it so Q never had anything to do with it.

It has already been said in Star Trek canon that the incident in TNG was not the first meeting between the Borg and Humans.

The first time some humans met the Borg happened about 10 or 15 years earlier.

If you want me to tell you just where it happened let me know.

Some of the Star Wars Transformers are actully not that crappy. I'd actully prefer if they were Transformers characters that scaned Star Wars vehicles to make it like a real crossover insted of robots that look like their pilots.

It's not TNG episode "Neutral Zone" but it is related. This will be a long post.

The Star Trek Voyager episode "The Raven" states that at least 10 years prior to the U.S.S. Enterprise-D's first encounter with the Borg, the Federation had some knowledge of the existence of the Borg, based on encounters with species who had been affected by them such as the El-Aurians, whose homeworld was destroyed 90 years before and a number of refugies were rescued by James T.Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise B [Star Trek Generations].

But this information was not made public to all of the Federation's people because the information was too sketchy and unconfirmed. There were descriptions of cube-shaped vessels, but almost no information on what Borg individuals looked like, other than rumors that they were cyborg's or their true motivations.

Two of the people aware of the rumors were Magnus and Erin Hansen, who made a request to the Federation Council on Exobiology to let them travel into unknown space onboard the U.S.S. Raven to research the rumors and then study the Borg. Their request was granted and the they departed from Deep Space 4 toward the Delta Quadrant with their young daughter along for the trip.

For eight months, the Hansens tracked nothing but stray readings and sensor echoes, and in the process of chasing their theories about the Borg, the unconventional scientists deviated from their flight plan, crossed the Neutral Zone and disobeyed a direct order to return. While at a space sport the were told about a planet in a near by system that was attacked by a cube shaped ship.

Soon they detected a transwarp conduit from which emerged a Borg Cube. The Raven was scanned by the Cube, but the Borg ship did not alter course, apparently considering the small vessel neither a target nor a threat. The Hansens tracked the Borg Cube through the relatively nearby region of space for three months, when the Cube finally entered a transwarp conduit again. The Raven followed in its wake, and found itself in the Delta Quadrant — the Borg's territory.

The Hansens designed a variety of new technologies to allow themselves to study the Borg up close without being detected. They developed multi-adaptive shielding to make the Raven virtually invisible to Borg sensors. Magnus periodically made "field trips" to the Cube they were tracking to observe first-hand the behavior and interactions of the drones.

The Hansens studied the Borg in this way for over two years. But then a subspace particle storm damaged the Raven and caused its multi-adaptive shielding to go off-line for 13.2 seconds, long enough for the Borg to perceive the vessel as a threat. In spite of the Hansens' attempts to hide in a nebula and mask their warp trail, the Borg caught up with the Raven as it crash-landed.All three of the Hansens were assimilated into the Collective at that time, including the young girl Annika Hansen, who became the drone designated as "Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero One."

Apperently Star Trek can't keep to Continuity even without the use of Time Travel then because if the Federation was allready aware of the Borg before Q sent the Enerprise into Borg space then the events of "Q Who?" never happened.

Either that or Q simply lied about everything knowing the Federation was allready aware of the Borg.

Ether you didnt read my entire post or you misunderstood something.

Like I said in my post the information that they did have about the Borg was very schechy and was not open to the general public.

Also I see no reason to assume that Q lied but even if he did why would that suprise you???

It was once said that one one planet he is know as a god of lies and tricks.

And Q has been knowen to be wrong on more then few ocastions.

He's not perfect and all knowing even if he says that he is.

Fact is that the first meating between humans and the Borg went unreported because the Hansens were all assimulated.

The information was found almost 22 years after the fact.

But Star Trek is full of continuity errors that cant be explained at all.

At least the one with the Borg was fixed with out causing any new ones.

Well here's my thoughts.

TOS Enterprise should be ether Captain Pike or a young Kirk.

The refit Enterprise or the A [basicly the same] from the movies should be ether Older Kirk or Captain Spock.

Enterprise D from TNG should be a combiner of Picard and Riker

Voyager should be ether Janeway or 7 of 9

DS9 or the Defient should be Captain Sisko

General Martock should be the IKS Rotaran a Bird of Prey

The NX Enterprise [from the show Enterprise] should be ether T'Pol or the Captains dog because those were the only 2 characters on that show that I really liked.

I could go on but I'll be here all day.

I love Transformers and Star Trek both, but this would be horrible (to me). But like someone said, if they weren't ST characters and were only the vessels/station, that might be cool. But turning them into the captains and whatnot, that just makes me shudder.

Admittedly, you're right, and the star wars transformers, which other people have already said, were pretty bad. But that aside, I thought it was still pretty cool having an x-wing that could transform into something else(plus, I got lightsabers for my decepticons). Regardless of who they transformed into, I still think that having the ships transform is a cool idea.

I think Hasbro should really abandon the idea of Star Wars ships that Transform into Star Wars characters and make a real crossover.

The Death Star = Unicron

Imperial Shuttel = Megatron (I actully like that mold and it looks nothing like Palpatine anyway. The coloring would work verry well for Megatron.)

X-Wing = Optimus Prime

Tie Fighter = Seekers. (Starscream get's the curved wing design of Vader's Tie while Thundercracker and Skywarp get the generic flat wing Ties.)

The Hover Car Anikin used in Episode 2 would allso make a great Bumblebee.

SWTF biggest failure was their attempt to turn the vehicles into something that remotely resembled those controlling the vehicles.

It would look even worse for Star Trek. At least the in SW the likes of Luke had helmets, imagine a bald Sisko with a robot body? Or perhaps a Klingon with a giant hat? (See Chewie and the Falcon)

No ... for it to be a genuine crossover you need to have the vehicles transform into TF characters, and if absolutely necessary, include a pilot figure (like SWTF) of the ST character that best represents that particular vehicle.

They do have a SWTF that Transforms into the bald Mace Windu.

I actully prefer the humanoid SWTF because the robotic heads don't really look like whatever SW characters they're supose to be. Mace Windu included. Look at Obi Wan, it doesn't really look like him, just looks like a generic robot head.

I don't like the ones with helmets. Darth Vader definatly looks like Darth Vader. Luke definatly looks like Luke... well actully it looks like a robot wearing Lukes helmet wich I still think is verry stupid.

Thing is though, there's a difference between the head/face of a robot, a normal humanoid head, and a helmet.

Most helmets don't resemble a robot or even humanoid head/face so they don't work on SWTF either.

And I wouldn't call their heads robot heads either, they're more humanoid with enough detail to make people believe they're not the actual SW characters.

Simply put though, they don't work because the heads never really matched the rest of the bodies.

how about we have the ships transform into themselves. by that i mean not a show character and not a TF character, as each ship already has a name, make it that character!

no i dont mean Majal Barrett either!
