I think there's an advantage to be had in that design. Fear can reach beyond the range of any weapon I know of. And after all, isn't 'intimidating the enemy' a perfectly acceptable military tactic?

And believe it or not, I can TOTALLY see Megatron (with a different appearance) coming to Earth and, after a little Net search to find out what the squishy things are scared of, actually SWITCHING to that design. Now, I don't pretend to be an expert on Megatron's perspective and/or thought processes, but he seems like the type of dude who would intentionally choose to use the most scary and nightmarish design possible. What better way to strike terror into the hearts of your enemies than to choose something they already fear, adding instinctive terror to the fear they would naturally feel upon meeting you? Frightened enemies are easier to defeat, surrender becomes a lot more likely, and even the strongest foe is no threat when he's running away screaming like a little girl.

The toy line from the movie was a fair amount disappointing but I loved the movie regardless, both it and G1 will be regarded as awesome to me.

In TF2 I think megatrons not gonna be back because the allspark destroyed him and really only starscream, barracade and scorponok were the only surviving decepticons!

Megatron looks like Satan with Elaphantisis, Not that this is that bad, (Well, it is for him) but when he gets an earth form, aka a stealth bomber he will be Cooler.

I'll admit, I was skeptical of the movie designs. Then I saw them in action. Megatron was absolutely kick-ass in the movie, and the designs of other characters (Brawl, Barricade, Bonecrusher, Ratchet, Ironhide, Jazz) quickly appealed to me as well.

As a side note, Optimus looked cool even on paper; in motion, he kicked as much butt as Megatron did.

Megs was cool it was just when he talked I may be the only one who noticed it but when he talked his mouth moved like his jaw was broken or he chewed tobbaco or he had a bolt that connected his jaw and it fell out somewhere.

Transformer Design part was too good. Excellent direction and the G1 effects

I like the film version of Megs better than G1. As annoying as Shia's over-enthusiastic interviews are, he is right about G1 Megs being lame and stupid.

We all know Starscream was the real decepticon leader. I mean for instance, in TFTM, he turns into a gun, and then STARSCREAM shoots like 5 Autobots with it. Megs didn't do jack, but proceeded to call SS and idiot. Megs is an idiot for having such a stupid alt mode.

That said, his movie alt mode was still weak. I understand it at the first unfreezing part, but he should have scanned and Earth mode once he left the dam.

Overall, 10x better than G1 IMO.

But why would Megs want to scan an Earth mode? He aint gonna be hanging around for long, just obliterate the Autobots, grab the Allspark and then return to Cybertron, perhaps returning with an armada at a later date to punish us humans for keeping him frozen all that time.

Precisely. And when would he have time to do it, anyway? In the middle of the chase? Like he'd stop for something like that!
