The text in that panel says that Unicron's transformation / assimilation of Cybertron is still in-progress. So that's probably the comic-book reason.

Real world reason: fans like that kind of references.

brilliant they finally confirmed to all those confused that Grand Scourge is 100% separate character to Black Convoy/RID Scourge.

Shame the other Unite warriors couldn't appear but i guess they're elsewhere in the universe.

Actually this doesn't confirm anything. The only sets that came with comics or that the comics even involved were ttmall exclusive sets. So they can easily still do things under the unite warriors name they just won't have a comic accompanying them like half the line.

I knew it! I knew Grand Scourge was fooling Baldigus! There's the real Black Convoy right there, riding on Gelshark just as the Legends LG-EX Grand Scourge comic ended. Looks like Sakamoto got to continue that story after all.

Can't wait for an English translation.

His toy's original bio certainly gave that impression, but with this new comic, I'm waiting for an English translation to tell us what the deal with him is.

It's the Galvatron II that was in Japanese promotional material in the 80s that labeled him as a city commander

Randomhero when i read up on Galvatron II it (currently) indicates they're the same Galvatron II :BOOM:

My preference would be that Marvels Galvatron II be separate from the Takara Galvatron II.

Especially after all those Prowls on the prowl :lol:

Well as Steal Your Goats put it, there could still be a toy it just wouldnt be linked to these comics.

There is still 0 evidence it's happening though, so it's just wishful thinking at this point.

It's intended to be both but he has those weird yellow lighting/flames from that art.
