I just got the Optimus Prime transforming gift card. It is freaking awesome. That said, I had a bear of a time just getting it. The girl at the register didn't understand that I just wanted the gift card. I live in (near) Philadelphia and we're in a heat wave so I just wanted to put $2 on the card and use it to buy a Mountain Dew and the girl kept ringing them together rather than doing it separately and paying for one with the other.
So after all that, I finally read the story for it on the package:

Surprisingly imaginative story for a gift card, and a nice way to work both the child and the company into an ongoing battle with the Decepticons. Though "invaded Earth to take over Target" sounds more Walmart than Starscream. Even the directions on the back are fun:

Again imaginative and good fun for kids. I like how it tells kids to get the card back as most parents and cashiers wouldn't think to ask for or offer it back after its been used up.

Yes, if you can find them. Try looking by in the greeting card section, although some stores may also have them by the registers or by the toys.

i got two of them.

My wife got one for me and put $10 on it. It is great! I had mine in my pocket when we went to the screening of the movie. I have also taken it to work to show everyone. They all got a kick out of it. It's a novelty, simple, yet fun. I am waiting for the next wave of movie toys to actually use it...

I have to admit it;s one of the best things I've gotten for "free". Yeah, they make you put $5 on it to get it, but you can spend that $5 at any time. I'm shocked they didn't insist on bigger minium or charge $2.99 for it or something.

I had a hard time looking for them too...went to 3 targets before I could find only 2! One for myself mint in package and one for my son to play with.
I am having a hard time finding the Target Exclusive comic book, anyone seen it?

You had to pay $5? I picked up two for $1 a piece.

I have 4, brand new in the package with no balance. Never used. I'll sell them for $6 each shipped to anyone who is interested.

I was just gonna put 25cents on it but found out the minimum is $1 on that gift card. The really cool thing about this gift card is that it matches the color of the Target Robo Vision Prime and they Look cool displayed together!
