TF Battle Stations

Postby Liege Evilmus » Sat Nov 17, 2007 6:53 pm

I decided since I don't like much of what I see coming in 2008 to take my money and invest in the G1 base bots, and other vintage heavy hitters.

I have Trypticon, Omega, Metroplex and just recently added OverLord. I'm looking to replace Scorponok(why did I get rid of him), and the rest, including things like the Prime's with trailer/battle stations. Again I have most, and at the moment, the micro and action master sets are on hold.

Reecently I've been having some random conversations about how great it would be if these types of things where reintroduced into newer toylines.

Well, my question is, from back in the day, which bases did you enjoy and why, and if we were to get new bases, what type of features would you like them to have?

Well, for me, the first base toy I had was RiD Prime, who's rear half became a small base.
But, as a REAL base, I'd prefer a new Fort. Max.
I'd be happy with reissues, but it failed drop tests for the US...*sigh*...
But, for features, I always liked hidden weapons and compartments for other figures. Also it has to look good, not be a hunk of plastic in the shape of a box. :P

Motto: "We're all going to die... You go first."
Weapon: Energo-Sword
The first base I got was G2 Laser Prime, who also hapened to be the second Transformer I got.
As for new features, I'd like to see more things like detatchable Drones and missles.

Like a sectional city combiner?

I could get into that. Now bear with me, add sturdy conectors like the Energon figures had(both the regular figs and combiners) you could have a store bought custom base with near limitless size and posibility :-?

Dam, this idea is gonna stick with me! I'm imagining a wall size display case made of bots for bots thats posable

Just to add to this.

Again, I recently acuired OverLord, mainly for his base mode. I have him set up with Trypticon.

Sadly, unless paired with minicons, the ramps on these figures will not suport a modern basic/scout figure.

The vintage bases, although awesome, are outdated and in need of a major overhaul for modern sized figures.

What I want and have wanted for years is an updated and downscaled Fortress Maximus. The size of G1 Metroplex, with actual hands, and electronics. Well, lights...

But we are indeed overdue for a battlestation.

Incidentally, the "city component" idea is gold. And I had it ages ago... you could expand it indefinitely. They could be smaller than the big guys and still end up as a table full of buildings, repair stations, air defense posts, computer centre... We want the Autobot City-bots NOW!

And if they could combine into a giant robot, Landcross style, it would be a mere bonus.

I was thinking myself about bots that combine into bases, there would be a commander with several drones, that form defencive walls and towers, they could be transforted in a third altmode, similar to Armada Overload.
Man I want stuff like that.

Do it.
I'm sure they'd say no because your ideas are too "expensive". :-?

Ah, but I'm a grown man who collects toys. Rejection is something I can not only over come, but twist to my advantage!

What I fear they realy wouldn't like is that it's an isea that makes sense!

After all, it is Hasbro

Always wanted to go there...

---------------------------------------------

My brother in law runs a seafood provisions company. Twice a year he goes to China and contracts ships to bring back provisions for his company.

I've been hinting for years that I wanna go with him so I can site see and spurge on my hobbies. 2009 I get to go!

I'm gonna fill a tractor trailer with mecha and ship it back here along with his crap!

Be ready

I just want a new FORTRESS MAXIMUS. :???:

All the rest of the bases like Metroplex, Tripticon, Omega Supreme are nice but it'd be great if they could make new ones that can combine somehow into one massive City (it'll never happen but we can wish).
WANTS:
- Studio 86 Grimlock, Sludge and Slag.
- 2016 Titans Return Powermaster Prime.
- 2011 WFC Darkside Optimus Prime Takara Japan Tokyo Toy Show exclusive.
- 2008 Classics Takara Tomy Henkei Convoy (C01).
- 2008 Crystal Convoy - Tokyo Toy Show exclusive.
- 2001 RID Super Mach Alert.
PM with pics & prices. Thanks.
