TFC Herc or Make Toys Green Giant?
- Motto: ""Underwater, no one can hear Autobots scream!""

Well ive been watching alot of youtube videos about these two combiners and wondering which one to choose? So I'm reaching out to fellow collectors who have them and can you give me some input each of them? Heres my verdict:
For Hercules: The alt modes are very cool, but i feel the bot modes are too blocky and i feel since there're abit taller than voyagers size figures, they feel abit out of place, but in combiner mode he is massive, which he needs to be for class comparison to other Transformer figures of any size.
For Green Giant: Alt modes are cool as well, bot modes are ok and like alot of the reviews i've seen they could be better, but the size of the bot mode are pretty close to the voyager size transformers. In combiner mode green giant, seems to be built alittle better like the locking the limbs in each port is a great idea and Giant doesnt seem too tall or overly towering next to other combiners. not sure which one is made of better plastics?
If anyone can provider alot more information about each of these combiners that would be great?
Thanks alot

If ypu want more cartoon accurate versions, go for Hercules. Giant's individual robot modes really suck. Herc also has a variety of upgrades that can let you make him your own. Giant has nothing.

I own both. Just open up green giant yesterday and I must say. their bot individual modes are horrible..... the size difference btw some of these guys are huge. Excavator is tiny compared to the mixer. their alt modes are ok. The combine mode is Awesome though looks great with Brut... Colossus.
I like Herc's individual bot modes much better.
Combine mode its a push although I feel like green giant stays together better and can hold a better pose. Herc with the upgrade while every bit as articulated is just so massive that he cant hold the pose as well you fee gravity will win over time.
Herc's advantage in combine mode is how massive he is and how impressive he looks standing over your Decepticons or on top of your autobots.
Herc to me looks more like an IDW Devi.
While Giant is more Classics.

Green Giant comes with a few head options right out of the box, without having to buy any more add-ons. And whilst neither is totally toon accurate, I just don't see the Constructicons from Herc's bots. The dump truck on each is totally wrong for the TF character, regardless.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

Re: TFC Herc or Make Toys Green Giant?
I have both and they both have their ups and downs.
Herc has those waist pieces that may break if you move them. And while they're supposed to be fixed in the fix they sent and in the newer versions I just can't bring myself to test them. In theory, however, Herc has the better waist articulation since the flaps hinder Giant's legs, so Herc may win out on dynamic posing.
Herc's head is less true than Giant's, but he has several options you may want to consider if this is important to you. I don't like any of them as much as I like Gian't head.
Speaking of which, if add ons are your thing Herc has a great many. Several heads, shapeways kits, Dr. Wu's light add ons (so his eyes can glow), and a purple barrel by Crazy Devy (alternatively Reprolables made a great looking set that's on my radar to buy).
However, speaking of Reprolabels, I feel Giant doesn't need them. Herc has a lot of blank, flat surfaces while Giant has more paint apps and a more complex overall look.
Proportionally ... it kinda varies. Herc has huge hands (which are great for holing Lenegds or WSTF figures) and his arms and legs are somewhat gorillaish. But Giant isn't perfect either, with stumpy forearms and skinny arms overall.
The individual members are kinda split. Half of each team seems to beat out the other to me, with Long Haul tied for suckiness (Herc's might have won were it not for the aformentioned leg problem). I prefer the alt. modes on Giant, but only a little bit. If G1 is your pleasure I feel some of Giant's guys evoke the toys a bit more than the Herc members ... but in a Classics collection many of those guys are updated anyway.
Transformation wise, Giant is FAR tougher than Herc. And some parts are annoying. MT added a bunch of locks with buttons you have to press, even in Scrapper and Mixmaster! Have a letter opener handy when you transform him because you'll need it to press a button down on Scrapper. I found myself transforming the Herc bots a lot more than the Giant bots .... but I also got the Herc bots as they came out, so it's not like I could combine them.
As a Gestalt, I feel Giant has the right head (yes, over ALL of Herc's options) and is highly detailed. However, having both .... I kinda prefer Herc. Especially with the Rage upgrades. I like his proportions more ... he just seems more powerful than Giant with those giant, beefy arms and upper torso. And the stock head is growing on me (although so is the idea of wasting money on the Crazy Devy head). I also like how he towers over the other robots in my display. It creates a nice focal point to work my collection around. And he's about a head shorter than his upcoming rival - YotS Omega Supreme! Or ... Energon Omega Supreme (like I have right now). Leg extentions off Shapeways may make this even more of a match of eaquals.
That said, both figures are winners and it all comes down to look and price. I think Giant is still a bit cheaper than herc all together and the height thing may not be great for you. After all, you may not want him to stand out as much as I do. Giant is larger than FP upgraded Bruticus and much taller then upgraded Superion.
I think you need to take a good look at your collection and think about how, exactly, you want to display Devestator. Is he going to be a centerpiece among smaller Decepticons? Or is he going to stand amongst his combiner brethren? Whichever you choose you win because both are awsome.

Re: TFC Herc or Make Toys Green Giant?
Your post doesn't warrant much of a creative response because you don't express what's important to YOU in deciding between these two figures. You've done some research on the two and your assessment of them seems accurate, so I'm sure you know all the completely obvious differences between them. Are you asking for facts, or only opinion?
Your only expressed concern between the two seems to be the quality of plastic? From everything I know and have read, they've got fairly equal reviews as far as "quality" all around.

Re: TFC Herc or Make Toys Green Giant?
glad to hear from someone who has both Gauntlet!
seems pretty much how I see it. Individually, there are bots from each set I like better than their counterparts from the other. Counting Robot and Alt modes separate it probably works out to about a 50/50 split on which ones I like better.
Combined mode though, despite the size, I'm much more impressed with Giant. The colours look nicer to me, there does seem to be more detail and he does look slightly more accurate than the Herc design. Price isn't a whole lot different, but when factoring in shipping from the US the smaller price on Giant does help me consider getting it. If I wasn't still torn about maybe getting Fort Max, I'd already have my Giant ordered.

I have both too. For me, Giant wins, no contest. Herc is only slightly larger. Maybe a couple inches or so. Giant is the correct colors and has some solid feeling plastic, to me. Herc is way off on colors and the green plastic is kind of garbage. If you get him, make sure to get the later version with the fixes already implemented. Putting the screws back in is disheartening. They just spin and never grab. Each has a crappy member of their team. For Herc, it's Bonecrusher. For Giant, Scrapper. Don't let anyone mislead you, each has parts to add for the combined mode. Neither is completely self contained.

Actually, you can press that button on Scrapper quite easially by folding Scrapper's faux piston down onto it.

this is a pretty fair description.
It really comes down too.. which looks better in your collection.
I kept Giant becuase he looked better for me, but that doesn't make Herc any less as epic as Giant.
