I really do get no enjoyment out of this.

Unfortunately I have to say that's not 100%. There is simply no possible way your first strafe salvo could have performed 94% damage. The average first salvo in a strafe is around 20%, and when you look at NitricOxide's previous mission he was left at 25%. So 19% (bring him down to 6%) is probably correct.
