In Generation One:
1. MP Megatron (he is the best representation of the original cartoon design to date, he has great articulation, and is complex enough to make him worth the buy. Not to mention the sheer size and the accompanying extras. He is a bit expensive, and is not for Children to play with for he is a bit breakable, but he is a Masterpiece, and as such meant as a collectors item for G-1 enthusiasts.) Agreed. As it was intended to be just that

Revised: MP Megatron is the most faithful...
2. Reissue Megatron (nice to have the original back, he's a pure work of nostalgia, and is why he is 2nd in my list, and that is saying alot, because his Bot mode wasn't all that and really had a lot of work that the MP version corrected.. so he would be 2nd in my book because even though his Bot mode is outdated, he is still the closest thing to the Orginial cartoon designed Megatron, which even Beast Wars hailed as the best version.)
REVISED:Reissue is the next closest thing to the Original Gun design/ cartoon Megatron..
Not quite, but hell, he is the original, and was supposed to evoke the Cartoon Megatron if nothing more

3.Megatron G-1 Classics Deluxe ( I would have to choose this version over the Megatron Classics Megatron "Nerf" Gun, simply because this bot has alot of what I would look for in a Megatron Tank. It is a marked improvement over the G-2 Tank megatron in design and though I would prefer the colors to be a dark grey and or urban camo, it does look quite nice. It envokes a feeling of the original Marvel UKI comics for some reason, a very nice figure. Not to mention it compliments Optimus prime very nicely in the 2 pack.)He would be higher up the ladder, placing him only under MP. if only he did not have that dinky little spinning arm weapon. That really adds nothing to the toy, but actually detracts from it. A Real arm, with a big fusion cannon (heck even the same weapon, but arm mounted instead of arm replacing) as an arm cannon would have been easier to implement, and would have looked 1000 times better. A good Megatron, with just one flaw.

4. Classics Megatron ( affectionately or menacingly called the "Nerf" Megqatron, this version is supposed to represent a cybertronian Blaster, and is colored in bright colors due to US Gun toy laws. Its ok, and has a Robotmode that resembles the G-1 Megatron. The only reason I would not choose this over the tank is that in G-1 they take on Human weapons and disguises, and a cybertronian gun sticks out and doesn't fit the mold.. now had they made him a revolver and still had an orange tip it would be a little more believeable as Megatron earth version..not to mention the other bad qualitites we touched on, but still He's 4th on my list becasue a repainted version of him would make him look badass, and his bot form is very well executed in design.) I'm not a big fan of this Megs, only because I was never a big fan of G1 Gun Megs. Don't get me wrong, the Cartoon Megs was an awesome villain, but the toy was never what I wanted from a toy. I always wanted either a life size Starscream to hold him, or a smaller version of him, that Starscream could hold. In any case this one would loose a few positions IMHO

5. Titanium Megatron (He would have been like number 3 on this list had they released him in a larger format and with a little less diecast, more plastic. His altmode is fantastic and superb even better then the classics Tank megatron, I love his Botmode, but If i was to add anything I would have had then add a large rocket launcher to the back of the Tank, whcih then could become his arm canon, not too big a fan of the shoulder one, but still a nice robot, and again gives me reflections of the Marvel UK Transformers Comics..the face sculpt is fantastic!! Man that tank alt mode is wonderful, nice colors too...a definate Buy)Other than the insane floppiness, and its come-apart-ness. (good word there) He's not a bad looking Megs. And yes and arm cannon instead of a shoulder mounted one, would have improved the figure.

6.) War Within Megatron (a great likeness, the only problem is he is in the titanium series, too much diecast.. See I advocate diecast, but its in a 30% diecast to 70% Plastic ratio that I consider its best uses.. if there is too much diecast the toy suffers, so my opinion of the Titanium series is what prompts me to place these Megatrons low on the list..that said had they released WW Megatron in the regular line up he'd be 4th under the regular Titanium Megatron.. they are simply nice designs and great alt and robot modes, they actually compliment each other.. and would work as the updated "gun law safe" revised Megatron for G-1. those are what the Classics line should have released..)I'm still looking for one of these. He looks pretty good. And the Arm cannon makes him look even better.

Don't have MP Megatron, and have no real interest in getting him.

Did you know that his head component is able to be attached to the Fortress Maximus body?![]()
and that, is food for thought.

Yes, but I don't and probably will never have a Fortress Maximus, so that's kind of a moot point.

wmpyr wrote:Skywarp I'm suprised that you like Ti Meg.
LOOKS wise I think he is AWESOME!!!!!
even not having the cannon on his arm doesn't bother me,
cause now he's like PREDATOR with the shoulder cannon.
as a toy he is one of the WORST I have seen.
flimsy, falls apart, unposeable, YUCK!
display only.
even at my age, I look for playability
wmpyr wrote:yeah looks wise ti meg is one of the best.
I don't know I really don't mind the missile launcher
on his shoulder, star scream has guns on his arms,
Meg to be like PREDATOR is kind of cool...
imagine it auto-target with laser sight... and Meg
doesn't even move, sitting on his thrown....
yeah they need to remake him.
wmpyr wrote:and whats with the Glavatron + G1 meg?????
what does that look like?

skywarp-2 wrote:Ok so i revised the TI Megatron a bit, I tried to get him cleaned up some and look more posable like what he could be in a leader class or something, I also added a new head, and changed his added canon a bit.. and added a decepticon logo emblazened on his chest, but if they ever redid Titanium megatron and made him just a little better, less or even no diecast, his figure would be awesome..

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
