Starscream5150 wrote:Those are good points. Regarding how practical it is, Soundwave isn't a practical alt mode cassette player. But the other good point made is I'd never have Megatron displayed in alt mode anyways so as long as bot mode looks good...
That being said, Galvatron would be great. The deluxe class Galvatron looks great (even though alt mode is a tank) and I have him along side cyclonus and scourge. A MP Galvatron would look great w my MP rodimus and amazon unicron!!!
ClockWorkMecha wrote:I do the same thing with my deluxe Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge(all three of them). The one time I did put MP Megs in alt mode, the gun was so huge I felt like a five year old holding a full size pistol it was so off scale. That came close to ruining the figure for me but I put him back in bot mode and there he stayed until I sold him, which I regret.
As for Soundwave, he's pure nostalgia, and I can't wait to get my hands on him.
A cassette player is perfectly practical because it's not a GUN.

One for each year of the Movieverse's decade strong tenure. Here's to a few more explosive years!

Let me explain: in Microman Megatron came in three varieties; The chromed version with the extensions (which was the basis for US Megatron), standard grey plastic without extensions (which was the basis for Japan's G1 Megatron and e-Hobby Megaplex), and a black version. That is it.
They could still have made the black version, and a comic coloured version, blueish gray with black helmet.
I would have jumped on the black version.

That would definitely have broken it.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
xyl360 wrote:I don't think his bot mode is too 'small', the proportions are just really really bad (like the G1 toy) and the limbs are too skinny. The gun mode is oversized. Both of these issues can be fixed by downsizing the figure and re-engineering it. The bot does not need to be 'bigger' to not be 'spindly', it's just a matter of making the individual limbs have different proportions (reference Classics/Henkei/United Megatron or the third party Hegemon figure for examples).

Honestly what kind of sane person actually really cares about weather or not the gun-mode is live-sized? It's supposed to be a Masterpiece figure and its bot-mode is important, especially now that they want to scale the bot-modes.
If they make his gun life sized, the bot-mode will be tiny.
And yes the comment directed at him "being too small" where directed at his height, "Megatron's supposed to tower over Prime".
What they need to do is keep the overall mass of the gun-mode, but redesign both the gun and the transformation.
It boggles my mind how people can complain about the gun-mode not being realistic enough to "be display" worthy, seriously WTF? You want to display a Walter P-98? go buy one, it's probably both cheaper and easier for you to get a real one when you're in the US anyway.
It's like complaining about ROTF Leader Starscream's alt-mode not being a perfect model of a plain while his bot-mode is super accurate to the damn movies.

I don't really care about the alt mode myself. It can be a tank for all I care as long as the bot mode is accurate to the G1 cartoon. That's all I've ever wanted, personally (and why I bought Hegemon). I was simply commenting on it since you mentioned it as I was merely pointing out the fact that they were two very separate/unrelated issues (large gun mode vs spindly proportioned bot mode).

Oh no, that wasn't directed at you, if it had been I would have quoted you.
That was just me adding to the discussion by mentioning some of my favourite complaints made against him, especially the last one since it's super conflicting but was done by the same guy on why the toys sucks.
Seriously, the guy wanted the gun-mode to be life-sized while at the same time having a robot that towers over MP01 Prime while being as massive as that toy. Something that has absolutely no basis in reality.
I mean seriously, gun is over sized and the bot mode is spindly as hell, how the hell does he expect a gun half the mass as MP 5 make a robot that's twice MP 5's mass?
