The new box designs suck!

I jut purchased a Movie Optimus Prime today and like many of the newer box designs. :???: .it was impossible to figure out how the blasted thing opened! :-x
I wish Hasbro would drop all these impractical box designs and return the old box shape packaging. At least those were easy to pack away, stack, or whatever.
But nooooooooooooo... they have to get fancy.

Any thoughts?

Yep. The simple solution, unless you wanna keep the box.

I just slice open the package window (if it has one) and destroy the box from the inside out...

It would save on the MSRP if they just cut the BS packaging deigns and stuck to basic. I agree. It's the toys that sell, not the complicated design of packaging.

AND do they really need so many twist ties?! It's insane! "Ok, Hasbro! I think the toy would have held in fine with 4 ties, but 8 is a little obsessive!" Even the little deluxes have an overbearing amount of twisties!

Ok it's just ranting, but anyway the topic was about the fancy packing.

The fancy packing is cool, but also for people looking to keep them in package must be finding it hard to keep in excellent condition given the odd shape.

Oh man, it took me almost 15 minutes to free my Classics Ultra Magnus and Skywarp from their plastic prison, there were just so many super tight twisties in there.

Heh, I forgot about the twisties! They are getting ridiculous. If they revert back to the G1 box style they wouldn't need to use the twisties.
As for ripping the box open I'm one of those who wants to keep the packaging is as good a condition as a possible. You'll never know how much value these things retain with packaging intact.

I would think they are making the box designs
geared for the MISB collector. Adding shape to the package
makes them more exquisite and adds to the eye candy.
If your gonna take it out of the box, do what any kid would do
and destroy it to get to the delicious center, yum. :D

Twist ties, I'd assume, are a countermeasure to thieves.
I'm sure many of your have seen the Mini-con packages opened
and the poor little robots liberated...I see it all the time, myself.

-ed; of course, they also keep the toy from sliding around the box, and from thoroughly reaching your hands in a timely manner.
