I'd like to suggest the kitbash thing be kept an eye on... Not all of us have the skills to make customs, and this is a contest for posing and photography, not kitbashing.... I'm worried that the non-kitbashed entires will get killed.

The skill of the kickbashed figure(S) will not be considered for judgeing. We're looking at the photo, not the figures you used. Don't worry, we'll make the fairest judgement we can when deciding the winner.

so how are we to come to a decision on the theme? I know the Judges pick it... but what if we had someway for the participants to vote? Is there someway to make a poll or something with a deadline and a few of the top ideas and then use that idea? It might be a fun way to decide!
I don't know if or how it would be possible or if it is even a viable option... maybe a web-poll could be made somewhere else and linked to and from this thread? I think as long as there was a deadline it shouldn't cause too many problems or delays. Just throwing another idea out there.

What about a famous one on one battle type contest. Like Prime vs. Megatron, Barricade vs. Bumblebee and the likes. It would be simple, but could turn out cool.

From ToplessRobot.com:• "Watching Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is marginally better than sh***ing your pants, but it takes a lot longer." Very well put.

Ore TFs that just make a cool and powerful pose of victory!

In that case, I'll have to make some pants for my 20th An. Prime, so he stick his hand in them.
Just a suggestion: How about keeping the Photocontest on the front page until it's over? Perhaps in the section of the 8 features, right above the Vector Sigma part?
From my experience, I've noticed that people don't enter the photocontest because they don't know it's going on. And then the deadline gets extended, but no one knows this except for those who've been reading the Photocontest thread and have already entered.
So please, this time, let's advertise or at very least make it known. Putting it on the front page and perhaps the judges having "Photocontest Now Open" sigs or something will help keep it alive.

There's some kind of mistake, I never volunteered! I simply asked a few questions about the rules....

And the contest is a go!
So, are we allowed to use other figures for human characters? It's not stated, but it'd be kinda hard to depict giving a traffic ticket if we can't use a police officer....

As long as it is not a premanufactured doll. You are allowed to make your own. Like get a laundry clip and painted it or something. Those are permitted.

So nothin like a G.I. Joe or anything, even those though aren't dolls, they're ACTION FIGURES!!!!
Kidding, I know that was just a term developed by Hasbro to sell dolls to little boys.
But that is an interesting rule. Aha, I could make a paper person. But I haven't decided exactly what to do just yet.

Yeah, I decided to take it one step up. Besides, if you use a premaunfactured doll/figure people will recognize it and it will stripe away the fantasy the photo is suppose to depict.

Granted, that's sort of obvious, however are talk bubbles allowed like previous contests?

A few things for consideration before I write this particular photo contest off:
1) I noticed several comments posted in the entry thread. Shouldn't we keep all discussion here? Is there a way for a mod to delete their posts so the entry thread does not get cluttered?
2) When is the deadline?
3) I think there should be an exception to the "no other action figures" rule given the theme. It is difficult to show interactions with breaking laws if you can't show police officers or any human figures! I had a few awesome ideas that I can't do because of this restriction.
I understand that if the viewer can tell where the action figure comes from, that it throws off the illusion in the photo. However, if it can be done so the illusion is preserved then the photo can be enhanced by those figures. It depends on the skill of the photographer to be able to pull it off. Let us be judged on what we can do with what we have, not what we do it with.
As it is, this is like being asked to take a photo of an alien invasion, yet you can only show the invaders and not any of the native creatures!
I feel limited to a point of *almost* not being able to participate. Instead of being inspired by a topic, I am striving to come up with an idea that will stand out from the pack of inevitable Prowl and Barricade photos. Not easy. Overall participation in this contest will probably be low unless that rule is changed.
4) The ability to add a comic-style speech bubble may help overcome the limitation described above, but I'd rather be able to have the action figures.
Take a look at how Seibs was able to use action figures to enhance this photo. Yes, they are GiJoe's but because ofthe way the shot is taken I can easily suspend that knowledge and enjoy the photo.

Not necesarily; most people probably wouldn't recocnize one of the many different generic figures found at dollar stores. On the the other side of that argument though it would make things way to easy to be able to just run down to the dollar store and buy severl police figures.

Funnily enough, I was pondering how in the world anyone could use 10 Transfomers for this photo contest... and yet as I set up my photo I discovered that I needed more and more TFs to get the scene just right. They add up quickly.

Yep. I never had to worry about that rule before in the old contest because I don't even own ten TF figures (yeah I suck.)

You must have missed the 'No Photoshop' rule. Unless if you're talking about cutting out pieces of paper and suspending them with string...

Question: does the law-breaking HAVE to be rules-of-the-road based? Because I imagine it would be a lot more fun and less restrictive that way. And I don't have a single police-bot. I guess a lot of people are going to have to buy Barricade for this one...
