I have to say, I'm kind of disappointed that none of the suggestions that we made were used for the theme. There were SEVERAL good ideas that would have made great themes. (my favourite was the TF in ART idea)

I think that a lot of the lack of interest in the previous contests may have partly due to the fact of unpopular themes. While I agree that the guest judge idea is a great way to spark interest... I also think that if one of the themes suggested for each contest was chosen, it would be a lot more popular.

Just a suggestion but what if for the next contest, we compile all of the themes suggested in this thread and then the Judges and Guest Judge can pick their favourite from that list. It would add another fun element of participant involvement to the contest!

It's premanifactured dolls/figures (lego people/GIjoe/Baribie) that aren't allowed.

Depending on how this contest goes I may tweek the rules a bit.

My biggest problem with the figures was how they break the mythology and fantasy they photo is trying to make. I may allow lego people in future contests seeing as they're very generic.

The next contest will be one of the themes from this thread (you've all got great imaginations! lol) and I'll have to agree with ghostofstarscream on the tendencies of the people's ideas being ignored. That's why I chose this particular theme. It was an idea I came up with for a contest that was ignored. So yes a little abuse of power on my part...not really, but you get the idea.

You could just borrow one from a friend/parent/sibling, or simply take the photos with a film camera, and scan the photos.

I hope you do tweak that rule. I think we can be creative in making those types of figures work to enhance the photo. (see my previously unanswered post on page 3) Take off points if you don't like it, but don't eliminate the entire possibility!

Will captions be weighed in a little heavier than they were in previous contests? Because I have an idea for mine, and it wouldn't make sense unless you read the caption.

Also, I have given permission to Dead Metal to use a piece of a lego man in his photo so for this contest and therefore I will allow the heads of Lego people to be used, but not the entire figure (you'll have to make the rest! bwuwahahahahaha! I'm tempted to start an "unofficial" photo contest of my own. Does anyone have a problem with that? Any support? Maybe I'll just wait until the next one. I really don't know. I think more people would enter if the themes were more broad. I also find that the contest lacks excitement because there seems to be less than one entry a day. Also, the discussion thread should not be stickied. Stickied threads tend to be ignored. Better to leave it as a regular thread and post in it often to generate some interest.

OK, I realize now that I did choose a lousy theme and many of you have voiced your opinions and I've heard them.


Lapse Of Reason's post (Didn't get you're PM yet. Got one from 1337W422102 though) and others I feel some reforms are in order.

How would you all feel if this contest was canceled so I could do some more work on it? I feel I may have gotten overexcited about bringing the contest back and did so without it being fully ready.

Decepticon Spike would still guest judge when they contest starts again.


If you're all willing I'd like to recieve your suggestions and ideas for the contest (anything about the contest!) that would help improve it as a whole and expand people's enthusiams for it. Send me a PM with your suggestions or post them here!


If enough of you respond I'll decide what to do, but if not the contest will resume and we'll try the reforms with next month's contest.
