Did he get hurt on that play? No. I said it looked funny. Have you ever laughed at someone who got hit in the balls? I'll bet you have. Same thing. And by the way I am probably one of the easiest going people that you'd meet, and don't wish harm on others.

Your comment really ticks me off, you've been hollier than thou this entire thread, now it's time to eat it. You are such a typical Pats fan and one of the reasons that I can't stand your team.

Everybody else in this thread has been really cool. Even teams whose fans hate each other have had friendly discussion, but you just couldn't have it that way.

You know, I keep hearing that, but the only people that brought it up were those watching the Pats. You barely heard about 2 years ago when the Colts when 9-0 then lost there first, and really none before then.

Oh well, the Giants came to win, and Welker did too. Thats about it.

The year before when whatever teams got to like 12-0 or so they came out of the woodwoord, I think as far back as Denver and Kansas City getting far into the season undefeared.

Not many teams make it to 12-0, but I guess it would take getting that far to consider the hype of going undefeated.

I'm really shocked New England lost, even though I wasn't rooting for them per se', I'm a Bears fan and am not fond of New York either, but I expected it to be so.

Now comes the inevitable discussion: where does this put the Pats in the grand scheme of football history? Top five maybe... My list is as follows:

5. 2007-08 Patriots
4. 1991-92 Cowboys
3. 1997-98 Broncos
2. 1972 Dolphins
1. 1985 Bears

Why are the Bears number one? Here's my reasoning:
largest difference between points scored and points allowed (team)
Most double digit victories in a season
Most consecutive shutouts in a season (tied record)
Fewest points allowed (since broken)
Fewest points allowed- post-season
Only team to have back-to-back shutouts in playoff games
Most sacks in a season (team)
Two words: The Fridge
Fewest points allowed in four game span (13 points allowed in four game span)
Second most Hall of Famers from any team
Walter Payton- nuff said
And the most important reason they were number one: The Super Bowl Shuffle! :???:

In 1972, the Dolphins DID go undefeated, but they didn't truly dominate the league the way the Bears did. You just couldn't stop them. The game they lost to Miami? 38-28 was the final...but one should note it was 31-7 at the half. The Bears very nearly came from behind in that game.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

But the point is they DID fall behind 31-7. A great team doesn't do that. Unless they're proving their great ability to come back and win in any cirumstance.

Dude, you have to put at least one of the 80's 49er teams and 70's Steeler teams in there, or your list is moot.

So which do you think hurts worse? His ankle, or his pride?

http://www.nfl.com/probowl/story?id=090 ... nfirm=true

 My guess is his pride, and he's just using the supposed injury as an excuse not to play in the Pro Bowl now since he didn't win the Super Bowl.

Also, this is rather LOL-worthy:

ya know, looking at the pats record and the records of other teams.....i can live with one loss in 19 games.granted it was at the super bowl, but alot of YOUR favorite teams didn't make it that far.

so ya know what, 18-1 is beautiful...

I'd argue that 14-3 (1971 Cowboys, Super Bowl Champs), 15-2 (1977 Cowboys, Super Bowl Champs), 16-3 (1992 Cowboys, Super Bowl Champs), 15-4 (1993 Cowboys, Super Bowl Champs), 15-4 (1995 Cowboys, Super Bowl Champs) are better than 18-1 (2007 Patriots, Super Bowl Chumps).

In fact, any other team who has gone to the Super Bowl and won will argue that their record is better than 18-1.

Just cuz I live in Wisconsin, doesn't mean I like the Packers. In fact, my favorite two teams used to be the Cowboys and anyone who plays the Packers.

Compliments of this year, it has changed to the Cowboys, and anyone who plays the Patriots.

And yes, I realize we got spanked by the Pats during the season. The Cowboys are still a young team overall trying to find their identity. So while they may have not gone as far in the playoffs as others, or had as good as record as others, at least they did it honestly and without controversy. Dallas will be better next year, and they'll make the playoffs again.....without cheating. :P

Who CARES anymore about the cheating? The Pats lost. Besides, I am completely sure new England would have smothered the Jets had Bill Belichick been blind.

I don't think it's so much a hatred thing as much as it is a disappointment thing. We had thought that the Pats were a great team with great coaches. Low and behold that gets tainted by at least one incident of cheating. Now more instances are popping up and now Congress is getting involved, specifically Congressman Phil Spector (who really doesn't have much else to do anyways). The thing that makes this so touchy is the fact that these tactics COULD HAVE BEEN (not "were" but "could have") used in point shaving and fixing situations. i suspect that's why Congress is getting involved. Those responsible could be investigated under THOSE laws...you can't be investigated for cheating, but point fixing is something completely different. I really think that's where the government is getting involved. For the rest of us, we had HOPED that the Jets videotaping was a one time thing, but logic and further evidence seems to be pointing us in another direction. This could potentially be as big to the NFL as the steroids era was to baseball.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.
