I think a total of 8 games starting on Thanksgiving. Not that many considering the amount of games played in a season. What does NFL Network have to do with

Original Sin wrote:So basically, if your favorite team isn't your local team your pretty screwed.

That would be true with or without NFL Network.

Yeah, I've never lived anywhere else but Michigan so I was not sure if it was an NFL thing, or jus a Lion's thing. My parents live on the other side of the state, so they do not usually get blacked out though.

You are right, the Lions are usually sold out with the relatively new field and all.

Now we have 'THE BIG TEN NETWORK' messing up college football for me in my area.

So when does he quit and just join TNA? This guy was on my fantasy team last year, and when he wasn't injured, or suspended, he was a good player to have. All 4 games.

Browns beat KC today

I don't care if its only preseason, a win is a win.

And Browns need as many of those as they can get

wOOt! Bears beat Houston  . I wouldn't normally consider this a huge feet, but they did it with mostly third stringers and Kyle Orton at QB for most of the game. Grossman looked good going 8 of 10 for 50 yards in the first quarter.

Yeah, I know preseason games are meaningless, but it doesn't make me any less happy. A win is a win.

I think we can all agree the pre-season games are meaningless. A win, like the Bucs beating the Pats on Friday, is still a good feeling regardless tho.

Now is Orton at the helm really an accomplishment. We all know on the Bears depth chart they pull names out of hat. Just can't help if 'Grossman' is a longer piece of paper than the one with Orton written on it so he keeps getting the start. :)

Seriously though, Orton's not trash. He was pretty good at Purdue, and was the Bears starter for a bit two seasons back, no? At least for part of the season.

I'll give you Orton's rookie season. He had alot asked of him, and he came through. He's not trash, but as a QB, he hasn't been developed after Grossman came off the DL and they signed Griese. It showed against Houston last night, he was real rough in the begining.

holy crap does KC's offense look bad. Holy cow does Miami's offense look bad. I miss joe Theismann in the booth...and Tony Cornhiser just needs to go away forever.

As for my team, two words only: Da BEARS!

So what is the plan for fantasy football? Looks like we could scrape at least 10 players together. I posted a fantasy football interest thread in the Gen Discussion Forum and got four or five people there who mentioned interest.

I think I have maxed out my fantasy football potential.

I'm in 3 leagues on yahoo. Not sure how many you can have though.

I still think it's a fun idea, somebody should ahead and commish it.

Yeah, Miami and Kansas City both have a lot of work to do. I watched half of the game last night, and what I saw was terrible, it was two offenses with good moments, but ultimately there gears weren't working.

As for fantasy football, I'm not interested.

OK then. For fantasy football, the interested list at this point includes:

WildScorpio67
Bonger
Prowl76
Tigertracks24
Geekee1
First-Aid

If we can get four more, that would actually make a decent league. Come on people! This is a zero risk offer...no money or anything needed. Mebbe we could get one of the sig makers to design of sig for the champ with the Lombardi Trophy or something...:-D

Man this is the first time in years that this thread was started and I didn't do it. Makes me feel all warm and gooy inside. Who watched the Niners Raiders game last night. Man it was great, Alex Smith was accurate as hell. Our wide outs took hits and still made big plays. And the crowd continually chanting "OAKLAND SUCKS OAKLAND SUCKS" was just classic. In the end Niners win 26 to 21 in dramatic fashion.

Did anyone see the Browns/Lions game?

Sheesh, the Browns were complete **** until Dorsey got put in.

Even then they only got one TD.

Then when Brady Quinn got put in.

I had my doubts about him because of his greed, but my god he was worth it.

He got a touchdown on his first drive.

He took the Browns from being down by 16 to down by 3.

I'd say he's pretty damn good

I agree...Quinn was pretty impressive. Around here, the Bears play tomorrow night and, to everyone's surprise, they aren't the team Chicago is watching...and probably won't be until the end of October the way things are shaping up. Chicago is a Cubs town right now...I mean, it's only been 99 years since their last championship; but at least they never threw one away like the White Sox did..:-P

Watched the Giants-Ravens game tonite. Zero offense...nada. Eli Manning...can you say OVERRATED? Man did the Chargers pull one over on the Giants or what? Eli Manning for Philip Rivers and another draft pick...ranks up there with the Lou Brock trade.

Denver and the Giants are starting to look pretty banged up. Lots of key losses already...not good. Fortunately for the Broncos they only lost a running back...I think they buy them in bulk from IKEA or something. You know Maurice Clarett is sitting by his phone somewhere waiting...LOL

Then again, he was playing against the Lions... :-? We'll see what he's made of when he has to throw to a secondary of Dre Bly and Champ Bailey...

I want to see him throw to Braylon Edwards, Joe Jerivicious, Steve Heiden, or Kellen Winslow.

He did pretty good throwing to the second and third stringers, I have to see what he does with really talented guys.

I can't wait until next week now though.

He would have to be doing it from jail, from what I remember... :-?

Why all this love for Brady Quinn? Sure he looked sharp against Lions 2nd, and 3rd string defense, and when the preseason game was already well in hand.

It's hard enough to get a team to concentrate for an entire game when they have that kind of lead during the regular season, but during a preseason game?

It's funny that the talk around here is not, "How good is Brady Quinn?", but why in the 1st quarter when the Lions had 4th and 1 basically on the goal line, did they choose to take 3? After all, this is preseason, and if you know anything about the Lions, it's how many short yardage stalls they had, how inconsistant and poor the offense has been, how many field goals we have been forced to attempt because of said stalls. A 26 yard field goal tests no one...a 4th and 1 on the goal line...that is something to build on no matter what the outcome is.

The consensus around here seems to be that Marinelli should have gone for it, and tested new acquisition TJ Duckett, to see if he could pound it through, or Ryan Calhoun, who is being touted as the Lions 3rd down back, supposedly...

Sure Quinn was sharp. And I hope he pans out. Compared to Frye, and Anderson, it looks like Dorsey should be starting.

Oh and for the guy who hates Tim Couch, I read that he was released by the Panthers, or Jags, whoever was trying him out.

First-Aid wrote:I agree...Quinn was pretty impressive.

You know Maurice Clarett is sitting by his phone somewhere waiting...LOL

and I think the Browns are playing Denver next week.

Hopefully Quinn will get more playing time

Then again, he was playing against the Lions... :-? We'll see what he's made of when he has to throw to a secondary of Dre Bly and Champ Bailey...

I want to see him throw to Braylon Edwards, Joe Jerivicious, Steve Heiden, or Kellen Winslow.

He did pretty good throwing to the second and third stringers, I have to see what he does with really talented guys.

I can't wait until next week now though.

If you want to see what he does with really talented guys then I guess you want the Browns to trade him. :P
