But the modifications you speak of are performance, because aesthetics are easy. But the point remains. Good looks ain't cheap if you want quality.
And like I said, there were a few Pintos, so I'm probably confusing the words.
For reference, which car did you put the motor in exactly?
I'm interested to know how that worked out for you as well.
BTW, you get Hot Rod where you are right?

Yes, I already said that.
The only thing keeping me from going to a car forum is that I don't exactly feel right. I tried, and all I got was in the effect of "lol omg ur just a kid lol," if you get my point. I'd rather just read books...which is shocking coming from me...than deal with that.
You're probably a better source on your own than a forum.
Unless you find one where you can soundly support otherwise, I'll just stay content.
With the whole nothing works first time thing, that is a given for almost anything you'll ever do, probably.
Next point, buying a "fast" stock. Yeah right. I can't afford any car from 2000 and beyond, and even so, old cars, if they are fast, aren't in the budget. I'd rather buy a cheap car and spend on mods than put it all on the base and have nothingto do.
And on one pre-modified, that's not a problem, but I just don't like it. It makes me feel weird that I bought a car that I didn't put effort into. If I'm modifying my car, I'm doing it. There are other circumstances, but if all is avoided (which is unlikely), it's my car for a reason. But if I can, I'll be the one working on it.
But you make the point obvious, and I can accept it. moneyis a big issue.
But I'm not gonna abandon my car. I'd rather go with plan A and spend what needs to be spent to finalize it.
On a lighter note, let's move awaqy from all this stuff, because you've done it again and I've learned that much more. (That was a compliment)
You've intrigued me on the Merc. What name exactly was it sold under in America?
Oh, and BTW, anyone have any particular car they want pics of? I'm going to the Mototr Trend show in a bit.

That's funny, I don't think neither of us said they were the fastest, end all or be all. I just said it's "factory fast". Get off the high horse.

Maybe you missed the previous post where the person posted a picture of their car and said "I'll race". Hence the invitation to armchair race (often a popular concept on car forums).
Evolution Prime, I noticed in your post you had "I'll race." As an automtive enthusiast, I would like to "armchair race" as well. What mods do you have in there, from the front it looks stock, but you might have a sleeper that owns us all. While I'm familiar with all sorts of cars, I see no tell tale signs of what modifications you might have other than what look like Cobra Rims and the hint of an exhaust from the chrome peaking out from behind the car. Often in the import world people have giant intercoolers in the fron which is a give away of the power and thus makes it easier to tell if the car is fast or not. Thus, you could be stock or have a nice Supercharger with an water based intercooler and a built motor running lots of power. But I'm unsure and would like to know.
Now back on subject I'm interested in what people have ran in the quarter mile (since it's the only thing we can really compare in front of a computer).

Eh whatever you say armchair champ.
Sherade wrote:Thank you. I'm sure you can figure it out.
Here's the budget. For the car itself anywhere from 0-6000 dollars. For modificatrions, it would depend on how much you'd think is needed, altohugh personally I'm not sure how much can be afforded.
Obviously it'll be a used car, but I'm sure you can think of many that sell on that price.
I myself will kep searching, so you really don't need to do much if you'd prefer not to.
Which reminds me, remember how you said I'd better off buy a fox body over the '70 Mustang? We almost had the perfect '87 GT for 500 bucks. But someone beat us to it by three seconds..literally.
Oh, I also have the pics ready, I'll need to upload them, and for those interested I got some walkaround vids too.
Eh whatever you say armchair champ.
Some of us are actually in to really modifying their cars and taking them to the track. If you're not goiong to contribute to the discussion, then stay out of the thread.

First off, it's your condescending attitude that gets you my scorn. Your attitude about cars seems to make you feel like "the expert", when in fact there are plenty of us out here who are enthusiasts, and are also members of many car forums, so don't start talking down to me. I've probably been banned for hot headed racing discussions from more car forums then you probably have ever registered to. And I've also been to the track and run every single car I own, have timeslips for all my runs, and do all my own modifications when I buy them, so don't think you've got anything over anyone else with your know-it-all attitude. There's plenty of others that'd suprise the hell out of you.
Oh, and Champ, I did contribute to the validity of the thread, but you didn't seem to notice, what being ready to tell everyone you were faster. You think you're talking shop, but all you're doing is talking crap. Until you stop sitting and saying such things and start backing up your own assertions, lets be clear about who isn't contributing what.

Changed the muffler from stock to a magnaflow to let it breathe slightly better.
Used DIY parts from Spectre performance to make a CAI.
New Wheels and tires.
Going to be lowering it soon and repainting it.
I like to have a little show and a little go. Just the right balance of each.
