I loled at the comment that they learnt about Earth on the Internet. Just look at the stuff on here anyway. I want to read the movie novel but haven't found it anyway where I live. Just have to order on-line I guess.

The didn't necessary have learned english so fast. The Internet concept started way back in the 60s or 70s. Forgot exactly when. Anyway, it eventually boomed starting the 90s.

TF were supposedly existing for millions of years.

Given the 90s as the reference time frame, they had more than a decade's time to learn the language. Much more time than an average earthling need to learn a new language.

Make me wonder. If they did learn english from the Internet. They may have learned other languages too. French? Spanish? Or even Chinese?

It will be interesting to see them use those learning in the sequel.

P.S. Chinese language will probably be the closest semblance to Cybertronian language. Given the type of writings they have.

Anyways, in the book, Optimus Prime talks Chinese to Sam first and upon hearing them say "I think he is talking Chinese", he swiches to English. The reason for speaking Chinese is that he obviously had data stating that it is the most spoke language on Planet Earth.

I thought the Chinese bit was funny in the novel, though I am glad they kept it out of the film, opting for Jazz's "What's crakin' lil' bitches" instead. That got more then a few chuckles from my various screenings.

Nah. Written Cybertronian tends to be viewed as looking like Chinese characters, but as for the spoken, laguage I think that's a little different.

They are all of the same race. They may have different dialects when they speak but as far as wi-fi type communicating its gotta be pretty standardized for them.
