THIS is how Arcee's bike wheels go in bot mode (with many pics!)

For those of you who were lucky enough to pick up a Deluxe Arcee figure from the movie line, you might have a hard time figuring out how to put Arcee's "shoulder" wheels in robot mode. The instructions give you a vague idea, but there is a trick to getting them to lock in like they are supposed to (see concept art that the figure is based on at the bottom of this thread)

I'm sure many of you have noticed this before, but for those of you who haven't here's a quick step by step to show you how to lock in Arcee's bike wheels in robot mode.

There is an indentation on her upper arm in robot mode. This isn't for nothing. This is where the end of the wheel halves go, getting them to stick there is a little tricky since the tires just sort of "flop around", but it can be done. Line up the end of the tire with the groove in her arm and press down on the bike "shocks" to lock it in. Like so:

The trick, if you want to pose Arcee for display, is to display the figure first and THEN click the wheels in place. If not, the wheels will dislodge if you move the arms too much, though they can stay in place for basic poses, as long as the forearm doesn't move too far out and "pop" the tires out.

See? You can still do a whole bunch of cool poses by clicking the wheels in after you have Arcee positioned the way you want (please don't take that last sentence out of context...)

And her "shoulder wheels" will fit more-or-less snuggly on the sides of her arms, just like in Ben Procter's original design and concept art:

Is there really confusion about this? I thought her transformation was pretty straightforward.

I must be an idiot, cause I had no idea. I had the tires pretty much just hanging off her.

It was helpfull to me!

Sometimes I think that you did this so you could post more pictures of Arcee (Not that its a bad thing .)

I've seen this groove, but I wish it stayed in better since the disloging sure happens often. Perhaps I am still clicking her wheels on wrong...

LOL, Skowl's a pretty big fan of biker chicks eh? :P

thanks for the tip dude! it's cool to see Arcee as she was originally in the concept art, though she looks kinda different without her "wheel-wings". 8)

Skowl, is your love being split between the Seacons, Shortround and Arcee now???

Great pics, and I love the Ta-Da pose. That's Gold.

I had Arcee's wheels locked in for a while (discovered it by accident soon after purchase) but I kinda like them being positioned higher up. But then again I'm weird! :D

Incredible. I've owned her for weeks now and never noticed it once. She looked terrible with the wheeled bra of doom, and she looked really goofy with wheel wings.

This...actually looks good. It really does lock in place! ...why does Hasbro skimp on the instructions all the time?

Cutting one or two steps can't really save them that much money...and if it does, we'll take a full set of instructions...charge us an extra buck, we'll pay it!

They're like my children, I love them all, just don't make me choose. (at least it's proof people pay attention to my posts)

And for the record, I didn't post this thread just so I could talk about Arcee more, I actually did want to show people what I assume to be the "correct" transformation, since alot of the photos I see around the net have the wheels up.

I posted a similar thread about Deluxe Bonecrusher, it's just something I do every now and then when it looks like fans in general are missing a step in the transformation process of a toy.

Agree with the Instructions, I usually look at mine after figuring out the Transformation myself, but the Instructions are getting gradually worse every line.

It's not so bad for figures like the Real Gear's, but for the more complicated Movie Deluxes, how does Hasbro expect young kiddies (and their parents) to be able to decipher them properly.

On the flip-side, at least the instruction sheets are not metre squared pieces of paper; a-la some BWII figures...

There is also a little groove on each tire and a little tab in the wheel joint attached to the arms (sorry, no pic). If you align them right, the wheels will not move at all.
