thousand are without power

ice storm

We had a surprise ice storm. We were suppose to warm up and have just rain but it stayed cold. I tried to get into my car but there is too much ice. I hear other people say that it took over an hour to de ice the car enough to drive. I am glad my husband has the next few days off and the kids are out of school so we do not have to go anywhere.
There are a lot of people who have not had power since yesterday. We decided that when we move to Springfield the first thing we are getting is a generator. Most who do not have power are in Springfield. IT seems they always loose power with these storms and go days before it is restored. Ours will flicker or go out for a few hours but not stay out for days.

Our satellite was a different story though. We kept loosing signal. Whats a girl suppose to do then? I turned on Transformers then  Jack came out into the living room talking to his friend who lives next door. He glances at the TV and says my mom is watching Transformers. Not more then 30 seconds after that I hear footsteps running to the front door. In comes the friend and sits down to enjoy the movie with us.

This winter has been real hard on the midwest. We're just not prepared for it. We haven't had this much snow in years.

A Geny is a GREAT investment. Sorry to hear about your situation, just hang in there.

I actually got stuck in Michigan Sunday as the snow
and wind created a wall of white. I had planned on going home
that day but the county road my friend lives on was blocked all over
by 4 foot snow banks. They actually closed the road until plows would get there early Monday morning. My buddies mom
got stuck in a snow bank, then his dad while trying to get her out.
Then the tow truck got stuck. This is some freaky weather we are
having this year. Last year was real mild, at least the kids have
piles of snow to play on.
And as long as you have your Transformers you should be alright.

This is actually the first good snow to go through Ohio this Winter. I'm sitting here at work watching it pile up. Last I checked we were up to about 6 inches. Still not a lot by normal standards. I'm just gonna be pissed when I spin out on Route 2 from the crappy plowing job.

The plows do not keep up with snow well here either. We have a :?: storm comming in on Friday. They are not sure what is going to fall but we are only suppose to hit 28 that day. Figures since we have friends driving in from St Louis for my daughters birthday.

Looks like my wife and I dodged the ice bullet.

We had to make an unplanned trip to St. Louis on Friday, and left on Tuesday. It flurried on us from Warrenton to Boonville, but thankfully we didn't see anything worse.
Check out my books, Titanomachies and Divine Retribution, on my blog!
