Maybe they're looking into mirrors? I bet Megatron gives himself "pep talks" while staring at his own malicious mug. Galvatron II seems to have put on a few pounds lately, so he might be admonishing his reflection for his lack of control around energon cookies. What's up with the Seeker bunkbeds, though? Starscream is sitting next to his own alt mode!? Also, is he rooming with Thrust and Ramjet now? I thought he'd rather pal around with Thundercracker and Skywarp, honestly, but I guess Dirge is their new bestie.
I'm sure they cackle and admire their evil visages in the mirrors.
And yes, it seems Starscream is now having a sleepover in Ramjet and Thrust's quarters, while Dirge went to visit Skywarp and Thundercracker in the upper decks.

If only there was a full version of his Scramble City cartoon model available, since his design was a bit different in that OVA. The Studio Ox one on the far right is close, but the cartoon model used in Scramble City was much cleaner.

So Metroplex was conceptualized even waaaaay back when Mr. Archer was still with Hb?

Yup. John Warden only started with the Roadbuster and Whirl thrilling 30 stuff. Metroplex was the year before.

On another note, seeing this art in such a big size that shows all the little Decepticons inside him up close, I just realized that, with what the recent Unite Warriors fiction did, this image featuring Galvatron and Starscream both inside Trypticon together in a piece of Japanese G1 artwork is now completely believable, since we can now say that that isn't Cartoon Galvatron, but is instead Galvatron II! Which would also mean that this isn't Season 3 Trypticon, but Scramble City Trypticon, who was retconned by Unite Warriors into instead being an earlier version of the Trypticon who would later be created by the Constructicons in Season 3 (both Trypticons even have not only different cartoon models but slightly different Japanese names, with Season 3 Trypticon being ダイナザウラー "Dainazaurā" and Scramble City Trypticon being ダイノザウラー "Dainozaurā").

Wow! So the development time ( conceptualization etc) is such a long incubation period. Since you also mentioned the new team now heading the effort, makes you wonder what will get the go ahead 5 years down the road.

Hopefully new toys of all the G1.5 guys, maybe some new G2 guys, and who knows: maybe even a new Beast Wars line!

... just not the yellow Constructicons with the combiner gimmick gutted. The Motorvators and Rescue Force have to have their accessories. That's all I ask

What the F was Hb thinking back then anyway?! Gutting the combiner connections/accessories of Combiner figs!Sure TF was kinda dying (saying it nicely) but it was LAME!
Good for the Euros and Aussies for at least scoring a domestic release of Overlord back then.
Ha! I didn't even see Megatron up there. All the more reason for this Galvatron to instead be Galvatron II.Overcracker wrote:Why are Galvatron and Megatron standing facing a solid wall.
That's Thundercracker. Click the image to see it full size. Though, he's missing his wings.Wolfman Jake wrote:Starscream is sitting next to his own alt mode!?
He also had eyes in the special.Cyberpath wrote:I think this is the model that was used in Scramble City (but with the nose canopy closed.) He appears only briefly in the special, but the details seem to match, particularly his backpack; collar; shoulder cannons; the underbelly, chest
and the Decepticon insignia between them.

I hope they go a different route with Omega Supreme, honestly. I want him to be as tall as Titan Class Devistator from Combiner Wars/Unite Warriors, as they are rivals to each other in the G1 cartoon fiction. They should match up in stature. Omega being six inches taller would look lopsided. Plus, he shouldn't be as big as any of the city-formers. What he would lack in raw mass for a Titan Class figure like Metroplex, Trypticon, or Fortress Maximus, could be made up for with extra features, articulation, deco, parts count, etc. Or Hasbro could just adjust the price point downward. I think Devastator was less expensive than Metroplex of Fort Max, if I'm not mistaken?

I guess this site has more true fans and fewer jaded collectors.
Yeah, while there's a difference between "I like this." and "ZOMG! This is the GREATEST THING EVAR made!", there's also a difference between "I like this." and "Meh".Dagon wrote:GuyIncognito wrote:Dagon wrote:I think this Trypticon looks good, but what I am really tickled by is how, on other sites, news like this reveal is met with fairly composed and measured commentary, be it positive or dramatically negative; while here on Seibertron, a reveal like this is met with pages of zomg posting, like every figure ever is the best figure ever.

Well, that's not even remotely true, but ok I guess. By any rational measure, it is perfectly normal to not like everything without having to forfeit ones' "true fan" status.

So given that Metroplex came 1st, then Devastator, then Fort Max, and now Tryppy, is it plausible that Omega Surpeme is next? Or might it be Scorponok?
