I have a feeling this guy is going to sound good. Michael Dobson really didn't portray a good SS to me.

Because it's ebing done IN AMERICA. Do people listen to me when I explain the difference between Canadian and American actors?
David Kaye, so far, is the only Canadian voice actor on the list.

im pretty well versed with tom kenny's acting roles, and i have faith that he can pull off an almost g1 screamer sound, shrill and snidey probably every bit as good as scott mcneil could.

Who did Scott McNeill voice?
David Kaye as Prime. Love his BW Megatron but the only 'good guy' I've heard him voice is X-men Evolution's Prof. X which didn't do much for me to be honest.
The IDW comics are hollow. Much preferred Marvel and Dreamwave.
The film designs are awful. Will still watch it though.
Hopefully the cartoon will deliver.

Scott voiced Cobra Commander after Latta died.
He voiced Rattrap, Silverbolt, and Dinobot in Beast Wars/Machines, Jetfire in Armada and Energon, Strongarm in Energon, and finally Snarl and Backstop in Cybertron.

Megatron and Soundwave on one end. Wheelie and Rumble/Frenzy on the other end of the spectrum. All the voices in between... One name... Frank Welker!
Not saying that Tom Kenny is equal to Frank Welker, but I'm sure he's not a Kasey Casem.
Thank you! my point exactly, a real voice actor can do multiple voices, and in all honestly I can see how the voice of spongebob could be made into Screamer all you need is imaginacion.
oh no did I just quote something from a spongebob episode? I feel slightly ashamed

I HOPE it's gonna be alright. I'm gonna wait and see til I pass judgement, but as long as he doesn't go Sean Schemmel on us, we'll be fine.

I think he means, like, to him there's only one true Starsream VA. Like to Bond Purists, Sean Connery is the only bond, etc.

I've only heard the Latta varient of Starscream's voice. Do the others who did his voice sound just like Latta, all high and screechy and kind of similar, or are they more different sounding?

Different but has some similar qualities. Much grittier sounding.

Unless I have a false memory, I think I did hear him (Tom Kenny) in that Hot Sauce episode one time, and he did sound a lot like Lata's Starscream.

I think Michael Dobson did it best. He did Starscream in Armada, Energon, and Cybertron.
He had the same scratchyness to his voice, but much deeper than Latta. It was perfect because Armada Starscream was a total badass. Unlike G1.

Like I said, being done in America. Scott McNeil is Canadian. So far, there's only one Canadian voice actor, since this is entirely American-made.

Kenny's a very versatile VA. All the work he's done has been good and I have nothing but complete and total confidence in him.
As for Latta and Dobson, I think they both handled their roles superbly. Latta excelled in his portryal of the nearly psychotic megalomaniacal G1 Screamer, while Dobson was perfect as the Dinobotish, completely badass Unicron Trilogy Screamer.
Actually, I think Scotty already confirmed he'll be on the show.
