Those people likely bought the Japanese version of Soundwave, which only came with Laserbeak. Instead of buying the other Japanese cassettes, which come separately, they decided to buy the TRU Soundwave for the cassettes, and try and reduce their cost by selling the base Soundwave figure.

I finally got one, through the TRU.com "Free Store Pickup" option. I kept checking all stores in a 40-mile radius, and finally found a store - about 15 miles away - that had it.

I'm not sure if its been mentioned elsewhere, but Soundwave is now available to order online at TRU in the UK. That's Great Britain folks. I signed up for email and text alerts of which I received neither!!! Luckily I've been checking the product page twice a day for the last fortnight so I managed to get him! Arriving Monday.

My friend just sent me a pic from toysrus. Says he saw about 30 acid storms on the shelf.

Got mine delivered from TRU UK today, £120 is a lot of money, but it's a great figure and thankfully Hasbro went with packaging all 5 tapes with him so no extras to 'complete' the set as it were.

Yeah £120 is a lot for a toy, I got the cold sweats when I pressed 'confirm order'! But I knew if I didn't buy Soundwave, I'd regret it later. Plus it is quite good value considering how expensive the 4 extra cassettes are if you bought them from Takara!

Ive pretty much given up on finding one.

I guess Ill have to go without or decide how much I want to pad a scalper's pocket

I took a chance and stopped by one of the STL TRUs yesterday because I noticed they still had the Soundwave marker on the shelf the last time I was there. The other TRU by me had removed it a couple of weeks ago. Rounded the corner and see a like 10 Acid Storms and then one box that is slightly larger. Did a double take, realized it was SW and quickly snagged it.

Finally, search is complete. Overall, I really like Soundwave. Solid figure, good articulation and minimal kibble. Some of the minions are kinda cheap feeling and Ravage's proportions are off. Dont feel bad paying the $130~ for the Hasbro version but would have felt ripped off paying Takara prices for the minions.

Thanks. As I was walking through the store I was mumbling "this is the last time" because it was at least the 10th time since he was released that Ive been there. Hopefully there are more out there to be found without having to pay a scalper. I may check by next week and see if they got another in and sell it at cost plus freight.

Definitely get Acid Storm if you can. I ordered him of TRU.com and he really compliments the other seekers.

What TRU does is effectively the same as scalping. They corner the market on a rare but high-demand product and sell it for jacked-up prices. The only difference is that they're a "licensed" scalper - they scalp us with Hasbro's blessing.

I just found it available on TRU.com and ordered. They were supposed to notify me by email when it was available, but I guess I was too fast for them.

Its still up on the site. Id order a second one but I gave up on buying duplicates and there are two many that havent gotten a chance to purchase it yet.

I don't think their "email me when it's available" thing even works.

I eventually got mine by checking TRU every day and finally, one day, the Free Store Pickup option showed that it was in stock at a TRU about 20 miles from my house. (I searched for stores within a 40 miles radius.)

This went live last night around 7pm. (central time) I checked around 6:58p but nothing. I was about to shut down for the night but I give it one last refresh before I go then the "add to cart" button shows up.

Place my order right away and got the "Order Confirmation" from TRU right after. So I think I'm good

Glad I didn't give in to the scalper!!

That cross my mind...should I get another one to sell...the greed.

But one is enough and is best to leave it for the ppl who have not gotten one yet.

It is tempting, but karma might end up biting you down the road.

when i got my us soundwave for my son, i bought 2... sold the other to a friend way accross the us for the price of the toy plus shipping... if i dont have anyone in mind to offer, ill post them here. i am getting 2 more next week, i got a friend that works for hasbro.

Also, I called my local TRU (Thornton, CO) just in case. The guy had already been asked 4 times that day, so he could tell me that the closest store that supposedly had any MP Soundwaves was Colorado Springs. He said the online store had gotten about 600 units, but they didn't expect to receive any at their location any time soon.

Still hoping to find mine for retail price. Unfortunately I somehow missed them being in stock online. I do like the red eyes better on Takaras version...but its hard to justify it when the additional cost of the tapes+figure is nearly as much as it would be for me to order some of the other MPs I've missed out on while on hiatus.

Not to mention i still need to finish paying off my ps4

Bleh. I've always hated hunting for TRU exclusives.
